I was wondering if you guys could help me out.
Im a little confused about the carry handle mounts, some say m4 or m16 or ar15.

Does anyone know which of these will actually fit? they all look relatively similar but there must be a difference?

More specifically would this one fit?

Thanks,

I don't think there's a difference between the two carry handles on the real AR15 and M16 (or the M4, for that matter), so I would expect they're pretty well interchangeable.

That being said, is there a particular reason you're looking at getting a carry handle mount instead of using the rail that said handle is mounted on?

Just looking for a way to get optics up high. I have an eotech on a riser and its almost high enough but as an experiment I wanted to see how high the riser mount would make it.

You should be able to look thru the iron sights and see the dot at the tip of the front sight post.  This is called "cowitness."

The real M4 optics fit perfectly on the LM4 rail.  The original M68 COO needed the "M4 Spacer" to get the height high enough.  Clone "high mount" sights should fit.  Note the spacer in these two mounts.  (M4 and LM4).

The LM4 and clone Aimpoint CompM4 on top with the included high spacer.
The LWRC M6 with Aimpoint CompM4s on bottom on cantilevered high spacer.

The EoTech milspec 553 is already the correct height.  Your EoTech may not be milspec height.

BTW the M4 and M16A4 detachable handles are identical (same part number).  This may or may not apply to non-Colt AR15s.
