I purchased an SR-10 back in December. I have not even put 4000 rounds through it.  As I read in a previous thread, mine too started grinding after being in single shot.  This is my first KWA, while I have owned G&G"s for years and never had any failure ever.  But, I know KWA makes quality guns...so in other words this post is NOT meant to bash KWA in ANY way. My question is this:  I have a set of almost new Prometheus normal torque gears. Shoud I use those instead of KWA gears ? .. I mean, the absolute last thing I want to do is spend more money on parts that will fail..Yes, I'm affraid.  Afraid of new gears doing what the other old/new gears did.  Any ideas on how to solve this ? I would love it if I could keep this gun fairly stock except for the km head barrel it sports.

I'll give it to the guys at AEX.. they are good with shimming, which I am not. I'll just order the gears from KWA. Should I order some bearings too ? I also read in a similar thread that a failed bearing could be the cause. Might as well cover ALL my bases.  Thanks to you TicTac for the info.
p.s.  MX and Airsoft make for FUN sundays !!

ya man and just have their tech look at those bearings if you dont know how to but order a few just in case. and the problem with shimming the KWA stock gears is the height tolerances on them are already so tight that its a challenge but as you can see by my guns sound im pretty good at working with what ive got. I know the video is about feeding issues ( i actually fixed the issue today so no worries but point is look at my ROF )

If you want to go cheap, drop in a set of China Clone Gears.
Shim them properly and you will be good to go.

Double D - Welcome to the forums.  You mentioned bringing the gun to AEX.  Are you by any chance near City of Industry, CA.?  If so you can simply bring your SR 10 to KWA and drop it off for repair there (M-F 8:30-5:30 PDT).  You will be guaranteed a proper repair and you won't be guessing at what parts to buy and potentially buying some that are not needed.

Ok, so a quick 400 mile drive then? They should be able to hook you up.  But if the gun is under warranty, I would send it to KWA
