Hey I'm wanting to do the coin mod (but with a cut down piece of wood instead of coins) and I was wondering what are the repercussions of it? If it double the rate of for does it cut life spam in half? I'm going to due this mod on an old mac11 (got it when first ns2 m11 became available) thanks for any insight.

It does not cause much, if any, problems for the ORIGINAL M11, go ahead. It will completely destroy the cylinder on an NS2 however.

While I have not personally done the mod, I know several very competent GBB techs that recommend against it.

My friend has the old M11, I have the NS2. We put the coin mod in both. His took it fine and it works great well after a year with it. I did it in my NS2 and before 24 hours have passed, the cylinder had worn down to the point where bbs couldn't be loaded. I can't attribute that to the coin mod without much proof. But, it never worked really well with the NS2. The coin mod is short-stroking and without the full bolt travel, the cylinder could not retract into the bolt like it was supposed too.
