KingSize,

bud im gonna post "to you" with this as we have talked about these before.

its great that your offering to try help out on these & for that i say thank you.  im still a HUGE KWA FAN/mark.

what sucks is that this is NOT a "one time" occurrence....   at the local field, i can count over 2 dozen of these doing this in less than 20 minutes of people registering & being asked about them....  there is over a dozen in this thread alone..

you may have sold 10K of these... but how many is an acceptable failure rate?  is it confined to 1 region that they were delivered (east coast?)? a bad batch?(are they dated from production?)

then think of it on top of that..  how many people do like we did & say:  well that was a waste of money..  throw it away and just dont buy another one..??

the problem is known enough that reputable retailers like  airsoftsmith, amped airsoft, crazy cromag & even Hobby Town all say....  we carry these but buy it at your own risk...  they work great, till they break.

at airsoftsmith LAST WEEK they had these on the shelf & when asked about them breaking, they said:  YES we know they break & we dont recommend them... but we offer KWA products & this is a KWA product.

the problem with trying to send these back to you guys was as mentioned when this happened on the first one for us......  customers buy them...  and how many of us have kept a receipt for a speed loader?  really?    think about it..  most of us dont.. we go up to our local supplier at an event... hand him CASH... he hands you the loader... & you go use it....  im betting that very few actually got receipts for these, why would anyone think they needed one with KWA's reputation for quality?

& how much is it worth to send a $20 loader back to you?  by the time thats done you have $27 in a loader that should have been good to start with, plus you had to buy another to use in between..  which means you no longer need the high dollar loader anyway.

honestly?  you guys should be doing a straight up exchange on these....   you KNOW theres a problem with them & it doesnt follow KWA's quality first mantra.

"think" ive got 1 of the broken ones left at home...  the rest got trash canned at the events...  do i have a receipt for any of them?  hell no.  pretty sure if you look thru my purchase history, you'll see 1 was even purchased thru this very pro shop.   would it be the exact one that ive still got?   who knows?

in the long end of this as a dedicated KWA customer?   i'd just like to see you guys get this fixed & be able to buy/use them with the same confidence i have in my guns from you guys.

totally get that people abuse & tear up stuff........ but there is a legit problem with these loaders, whether its the plastic or the o-ring...  hell none of ours even had o-rings...  (you mentioning it here on the site was the first i ever heard or saw of an o-ring for these)  maybe its a QC problem?

anyway... enough of this..  you already are aware of it...   so thanks for all you do & please keep us posted/up to date on these

s

Send them in guys, I'll take care of you. As a side note, one of our employees is heading to the factory in a couple weeks. We are going to bring a couple broken loaders along and see if they can do anything to reinforce them better. We have sold over ten thousand of these and I haven't seen that many broken ones in comparison to how many are sold, however there are still more than I'd like to see. Hopefully they will have a solution.
I'd like to point out that the same thing happened with my Marui and my King Arms loaders as well.

I talked to John over at your help desk and he sent me an RMA form to send it in .   I am mailing mine to you guys today.  Like sdk1968 said "i dont have a reciept because its a speed loader". I bought it a few weeks ago.   So thanks for accepting my return.  It should be to you guys in a few days.  I just hope it doesnt take a long time to get another one.  I liked it for as long as it lasted.  I use it to fill my K120 mags.  I was feeding by hand on Sunday, not fun.

SDK1968, totally get what you are saying man but you need to realize that because people aren't sending them in to us or calling us to tell us about it, and we haven't physically seen more than a dozen come in for replacement....that I don't have much data to go on. I've been using mine for almost two years without issues as well. If our dealers are warning people about buying them, they aren't giving us this information either. I need to go off of the information given and prove to the factory that there is an issue. If two dozen failed at the field, you got to know about it...but I didn't.
What is the acceptable failure rate? I have to know they are failing and have proof of such failure in order to go to my factory and have them change a mold or materials. This is a very expensive process, so I must have data to give them in order to justify a cost. If the product is a total failure, which it is not, then it's an obvious choice to pour the money into changing the product. Since we don't have a ton of data and there are over ten thousand of these without issues, it is harder to convince them to spend the money. A few guys on a forum doesn't give me a whole lot to go on when it comes to asking a factory to make changes like this. I'm just now starting to see this pop up on more forums and this is the reason why I am reacting to it, and letting you know about it.
I'm going to bat for the customer right now and not with a very big bat. I just need them to trust that there are more out there than the dozen I have to show them.
I hope that makes sense. It is in no way saying that the ones that have failed are not important, because I hate when any of our product fails...I take it personally. It's just harder to get them to change things without much proof. But I'm trying, and that's all I can do.

KingSize:   thank you very much for all your trying to do.

i totally get what your saying & trying to do to help. this is gonna be a very difficult thing to fix or pin down for a couple of reasons.

1.  this is NOT a super expensive item like a complete gun.....  so most people just throw them away & say lesson learned...  $20 is $20.. but its not like its a new $200 mod 1 or $400 m16...  its a speed loader... so how many people actually keep a receipt for a speed loader?    the cost to deal with it on the buyer end nearly outweighs the result.

2.  obviously this seems to be a batch problem..  because some people have them that are fine.. both older & newer... others of us have seen everyone around us fail early in use or first time in use. same issue for every single one of these ive had or seen fail.   those lips break off.   this is not hard to find as the problem or hard to find on the net or at the fields with people complaining about it.

so in trying to be helpful for you guys:

KWA is a serial numbering outfit.......   dont you guys have serial numbers on these loaders as well?

this should be helpful if you compare all the broken ones you get to see if they are in the same batch/distribution area..

obviously everyone im around is in the east half..  but ive purchased them from both coasts with the same results.   i'll be in town tonite & look for the last one we got & see whats on it.. will come back and post the numbers if it has any & see if that goes along with anything you already have.

Speed loaders don't have serial numbers, only the guns do.

that kinda blows a donkey.

good news is ive found out how to repair these...  but this is not the location for that...

One of the issues that I see about trying to get these speed loaders replaced, is just that it will cause more to get it replaced. I love these loaders for the simple fact when I go to reload, I can get three mids re-fitted with one full loader. I will be sending all three of my broken "m4" style speed loaders with my ATP that will need to be repaired. I am not looking for a replacement. I just want you to know that all of these were bought on the same day, after using a buddies at an earlier event. They lasted less than 3 events..

kingsize, it seems a lot of people are reporting that the speed loaders arent shipping with o-rings in them. you could at least contact the factory about that, since i doubt the plastic is cracking as it comes out of the injection molders :)
