Instructions on how to change the slide catch and magazine catch on the KWA 1911 MK Series. This modification is needed when using the double stack 21 rd. magazine if the product came with the 13 rd. single stack magazine.

Do we know if the new parts are compatible with the old 13rnd mags? I would still like to be able to use my old mags, as well as the new higher cap ones.

I second this question; it would be nice to know if I can still use my old mags before buying new stuff.

Looks like all indications are that the old mags will require new feed lips to be compatible once the gun has been modified with the slide lock and mag release.  But stay tuned for more information.

Thanks. I hope that's the extent of it cause that's definitely more financially doable that having to scrap all my current mags.

Agreed.  I have a fair number of the single stacks myself.  As soon as I hear any more info I make sure it's posted.

What's the hold up? I preordered a couple of these from ASGI as soon as they were available, and now - two weeks after they were scheduled to ship from ASGI - they're saying KWA hasn't shipped them and they have no information. What gives?

Limited numbers were shipped a few weeks ago and a new shipment should go out this week.  I can not say which retailers will be receiving them but presumably you should be seeing more availability soon.

Hope this helps.

I must have gotten lucky.

http://www.airsoftme...-197-01302.aspx

Ordered three on Sunday and received them today via USPS .  Upgraded the 1911 and tested all mags for function: 100%.

Now listed as Out of Stock

Good luck!

OK, So I just received a M1911 Mk III PTP (with the double stack magazine included) and an extra magazine (the single stack, old style?).  The single stack magazine does not lock open after the last pellet.  What do I have to change to make it function correctly?

Thanks.

Did the dealer pull the new magazine and substitute an old one?

As you've seen in this thread the magazines require different slide locks.

I received them as gifts. They came from different retailers. Is there a part I can order to change the old style magazine to work with the new slide lock?

So the word is that we can still use the 13rd magazines but that the slide won't lock unless we replace the magazines feed lip. Is that the current consensus?
