Just to add, the new PTS GBBR ASAPs have been updated and are made to work with the LM4 as well. I'm trying to find out exactly how to figure out if the ASAP is the new model or not. It should say on the packaging, but I have to check with corporate. Even if you end up buying one of the previous generation GBBR ASAPs, it nothing 5 minutes of grinding with a dremel can't fix.

As for what sling style works, I learned a long time ago what is good for me isn't good for everyone. I've taken plenty of classes taught by true "Tier 1" Instructors who have BTDT and they all have differing opinions on the best kit to use, and that includes guys from the same unit. There are obvious pros and cons to every piece of kit and gun setup. Ultimately, use what works for you as a shooter, check out what other people use and try to stay open minded.

The reason why I like the MS3 sling is because it works for me as a good hybrid sling. I can use it in 2 point mode for long patrols or when I'm on the live range with the weapon at retention, at the chrono waiting to get clocked, or climbing over obstacles, etc. And then I can use it in 1 point mode for when I'm in direct action situations. But that's what works for me. Just remember what works in your living room and what works out in games or the real world isn't always the same. Get out and try it for yourself and form your own opinion! :)

This thread has been an interesting read to say the least.  Now that everyone's peace has presumably been said, lets stay on topic and be respectful shall we?  So, carry on.

I would love to see a drop in ASAP developed for the LM4, since I just got my MS3 and I'd really like to get the full benefit out of it as well as have a good mounting position for it that won't wreck the attachment clip(my PTS LM4 sling mount is fairly sharp on the inner parts... I'm sure the MS3 attachments can handle it, but I'd like to reduce any chances of it being damaged over time). Plus, I switch shoulders more frequently these days as I am trying to build up the habit/be more comfortable shooting with either shoulder under stress so not having to worry about the sling getting caught up on my firing hand would be nice. Are there any other drop in rear sling points that serve the same function as the ASAP? Any that have the same compatibility as the MS3+ASAP? The MS3 appears to prefer a round mount point, such as the RSA or the ASAP or QD sling points.

Through all the heated disagreements I found myself losing most of anything valuable that was said. I realize now that usmc did say that, however when I first read it I registered it differently, supported mostly by the way I have NEVER seen an ASAP advertised as LM4/GBBR ready. Anyway, I'm still curious if there are indeed other sling options that can do the same thing as the ASAP, where the sling can move easily from one side to the other.

There's the IKickHippies SLAP, which is for real steel, so it may also need modification to fit. For a bolt on sling adapter, there's the Mission Adapted Design Hook-Up.

And there you have it..BAM! Case closed! And to end it helpfully..no there is no drop in asap style end plate for the lm4 yet on the market..don't be scared and go buy a real asap..and a dremel or a file if you don't already have one..and about 10-15 min of your time and slap one on your lm4 and enjoy..enjoy the fact you did it yourself!

My only counter point Boobie, is I would recommend people get a PTS version. It doesn't take any additional modding over the RS (maybe less) and there's a possibility that they will get the new version which requires no mods.

This may be true..but I don't know..I only speak from experience and if im gonna drop $25-30 on an asap..its gonna be the real deal..but that's just me.I've never had a pts gbbr asap..all I know is those don't have the key that locks the buffer tube..

I have to agree with Boobie, I'd much rather modify an item made for real world operations than modify a part that's made for an airsoft gun. Especially considering that they both cost the same price and that PTS model has that damn little PTS logo on the ear haha. Even when the PTS model comes out, I'd much rather just modify a real steel model.

I purchased the PTS ASAP at first. I can say that it does require the same modification as the real steel ASAP, being the lug does not line up with the recess in the back of the receiver. The PTS ASAP is wider so it doesn't require cutting into the ears when fitting onto the PTR LM4. Real steel ASAP fits onto the PTS LM4 receiver without modifying the ears.

Thanks boobie, I did see them at a few Asia retailers but now i see it on PTS's website i can confirm its for the KWA GBBR. I wish some US retailers sell it.
That website actually says it works with the KWA. Most of them just say GBB or AEG and I actually ordered one from a retailer a few months ago but for some reason they never requesting paypal money.   ?

no prob
As you can see in the second pic on their site the difference of the new and old..so it will def fit the lm4 without mods.

Meh just buy a real ASAP and grind it down, takes 5 min and you know you have something that will take an excessive beating, plus it's the same price as the PTS

Also keep in mind that while this is a USA based forum, there are consumers spread out all over the world buying KWA products as well, and due to ITAR may not have the legal means to import the real steel counterpart into their country.

I'm just buying the RS ASAP i can grind it with my dremel. I actually machined a few steel parts for me and a few buddies of mine with precision being my father is a tool and die maker for a scientific company. We are actually considering starting a small built to order business with machined gbb steel parts and contour lens protectors. I also have an idea of maybe machining some of the unneeded steel out of my bolt carrier like I've seen in a few high end ar-15s to reduce weight but idk how it would effect an airsoft gun.
