So I wanted to put a 6.01 inner barrel and mock suppressor on my MP7, I didn't want the Angry Gun Power Up one because of the problems where it pushes back the inner barrel. Does anyone know what brand of inner barrel will fit and what length I should use with a mock suppressor? (probably this one: http://www.evike.com...oducts_id=41794 ) Thanks for the help

Well A+ Studios or Falcon barrels are the main two.  I don't know of another company that makes an extended inner barrel.  PDI makes a 6.01 that is the stock length.  If you want an EXTENDED inner barrel, like the 370mm 6.01 from A+ or 363mm 6.03 from Falcon, good luck my friend.  The Falcons are all out of stock everywhere, not to mention they aren't sold much of anywhere besides ehobbyasia.  The A+ one exists in stock in a bunch of places, but for some reason I can't get an order down.  They're all asian retailers and paypal is being weird.  I've tried 2 different networks and computers, no orders go through.

A+ and Falcon also make 6.01 and 6.03 inner barrels (respectively) that are just slightly longer than the stock barrel.  I gave up on the 370mm 6.01 A+ and bought the 190mm version from Airsoft Extreme.   To put these in perspective the stock barrel is 162mm (or 168mm I don't remember exactly, the specs aren't up any more with the MP7 discontinuation issue) Here are a bunch of links to all those shorter barrels:

http://shop.ehobbyas...sc-mp7-gbb.html
http://shop.ehobbyas...-mp7-190mm.html
http://shop.ehobbyas...-mp7-162mm.html

Sadly, at least as far as I know, Edgi no longer custom makes barrels to order.  Also beware that when you get into the 300+ mm range the FPS starts to jump up to 500+.  I wish Edgi still did their customs, I would have ordered something like a 250mm 6.01.

Yeah, I don't really want to buy from ehobbyasia unless that's the ONLY place I can get something. I did want an extended one because I have heard using a mock suppressor without an extended barrel will cause the BBs to hit the side and mess up the accuracy??? It certianly sounds possible if you move the gun whille firing. I don't like that FPS jump either. I need mine to shoot below 400 to play at local fields, but I suppose I could use the low power bolt and flute valve...
Do I have to use MP7 specific barrels or can I use others like sold on ASGI, Evike, etc.?

You need an MP7 specific barrel, but you can modify other barrels.  It's a lot of work though especially if you are trying to mod an AEG barrel.  You will not have to worry about the BBs hitting the inside of the barrel extension as long as it's not completely open inside.

I bought my MP7 from a guy down the coast from me that had a custom cut Falcon barrel. He sent me this info.

www.falcon-tw.com.tw/

E-mail Sam for qoute at- sam@falcon-tw.com.tw

They can cut the MP7 Falcon 6.03mm F92 barrel to your desired length. $50 and it includes a "blue" hop-up rubber. Not sure if the Falcon "blue" hop up rubber is any good, but it comes with the barrel. This is my first MP7 so I'm a little slow on the uptake.

What I mean by completely open is there is nothing whatsoever to guide the BB inside the extension itself.  If you take the barrel out of the Angry Gun extension, there is nothing inside, just air.  If you have a supressor that already has a "barrel" inside it, the BB hitting anything won't really matter too much.

Also, if you do get your hands on an A+ studios 370mm barrel, I don't know if you can get the FPS below 400, even with the bolt AND valve.  Physics may just not allow it lol.  Based on the performance of the falcon barrel, it would make sense that the A+ will go over 600, possibly.

Wouldn't that describe most mock suppresors? Other than the Angry Gun aren't they all hollow?

I must not be explaining this very well.  Ok, almost all barrel extensions are hollow.  But SOME have like a mini extension inside them where it actually threads on to the gun.  Like about 12mm wide or so.  Like a little tube where the extended inner barrel is supposed to go.  If you get one like that, a BB hitting inside the extension won't be a problem because it will simply continue on it's way out, because it essentially will have transferred to a larger barrel, instead of flying through free space with the possibility of hitting the end cap of the extension.

Cool! It's a little long for my tatse though. Is there a way to tell if one has the mini extension in it?
By the way, how do you get a photo in your post? I can't figure it out

If the extension is threaded on both ends (usually one side is negative and the other positive) chances are it has an inside like that.  The easiest way I've found to get a photo on here is to upload it to photobucket, hover over it and click the button that gives you a bunch of links, and then click on direct link.  It will copy it for you.  Then while on here, click the image button (it's in the bottom row, it's literally a picture) and paste the link in there.  Boom you're done.

I just recently took out my falcon 363 barrel. It just shot too hard and the hop up was too high. I just installed an A+ 190mm barrel and the fps is down but I can't get the hop up into a sweat spot. In a matter of 1 click on the hop up adjustment it will go from too much to not enough. I also have an A+ bucking installed. I'm not sure if anyone else has had this problem but it is something to think about before buying a longer barrel.

So it isn't just me then.  My FPS is a little over 400 as well with the 190mm barrel.  I have a theory now.  I believe the Edgi barrel made for the MP7 was a 6.03, hence giving the gas room to expand, but compressing it just a little more.  There is small window before closing in the bore drops FPS when the barrel is short enough.  I checked out the physics on this, the theory on here makes sense.

So, the Edgi 6.03 fits into that window.  The A+ on the other hand, closes the bore too tight relative to the STOCK barrel length.  However, with the small bit of extra length, I think this counters that FPS drop, hence leaving the FPS the same, but giving you greater accuracy of course.  Considering the massive increase the falcon 363mm barrel gives, this makes sense.  Even just 30mm in length can apparently make a difference.

So I guess in conclusion the 190mm barrel is a way to increase accuracy without an increase in FPS on the MP7.  I really want that 370mm barrel now...  I'll deal with the high fps somehow.  Maybe a different valve and low power bolt combo.  But I want the accuracy of a barrel that is around M4 length.

Does this make sense to you guys?

Normal length=less or same FPS
Longer length=more FPS
I got it!
