I'm looking to replace my stock grips with some custom ones and I need to know what size the grips screws are on the Mark series of 1911s.

My vision may not be the best and I can't even tell if its simply a allen screw or a hex screw.

I have the Mark 2 if that makes any difference.

I thought allen screws and hex screws were the same thing? In any case I use a 5/64 sized hex key to remove the grip screws... I also have the MK II.

Hex screw is just another name for an Allen screw.  Allen is a trademark.  Torx is probably what you were thinking of, it's more Star of David shaped.

Yea torx is the other one I was thinking of. Thank you for the measurement. Now I won't be buying new packs blindly.
