I just noticed that Evike is selling the AK-74M GBBR. My question is if it is KSC that means KWA will not warranty it correct? Also what if I purchased it but have issues later on after 45 day warranty runs out can I still send it to KWA to have it repaired? Thank you

The KWA AKG has not yet been released and KWA does not repair non KWA products, in or out of warranty.

The real question is: What's holding up the KWA version? ATF regulations?

The KWA AKG passed ATF testing/regulations last September along with the LM4. Just be patient. It will be out soon......

It looks like Evike got tired of waiting. The prototype from way back when did pass ATF, and while it could be KWA is sending more prototypes to the ATF after revisions, thereby delaying the AKG's release, it is highly unlikely. Coming out soon? I've being hearing that since Mike told me 2 shot shows ago.

AKG fans need to accept that the AKG is low priority. We were low priority, are still low priority, and will continue to be low priority. We've been got pushed aside for the CQRs, pushed aside for Kriss development, pushed back so that 4-8 Kriss could be made before 2013 so KWA could say it got released by christmas because the actual shipment that would make it widely available would come well after 2012. There is still the ATP AUTO, MKV, 1911 US ARMY, M945, maybe we are ahead of ERG AKs, and probably behind the ERG M4s, and now we have the Mega Arms LM4, Sphinx pistol, and a Masada GBBR to contend with.

Have you seen the Evike forums and videos? Everyone is asking about the AKG, KWA is saying nothing, and Evike decides it needs to meet a demand. No wonder they stocked the KSC AKs.

My released date guess: Quarter 3 to 4 of 2013. If you look at the history of the LM4 development since it was publicly announced that KSC was making a GBBR LM4 to the KWA US release, then assume it will be around the same time frame to make the AKGs, and start the AKG time frame from the announcement and release of the KSC AK, it is looking like the later half of this year.

Yea... still goes back to, is the KSC version ATF approved? The Asian LM4 is not ATF approved, I would imagine the same to be true for the AK74M...

I would assume that it is ATF approved (or at least meets the qualifications). The problem with the Asia LM4 was that it could accept a RS upper and magazine without modification. I would assume that the AKG doesn't have the same concern since it would take a hefty amount of modification. My guess would be that it would take about the same amount of modification to convert an AK GBB as it would the USA LM4. People would be better off just making their own receiver than attempting to convert the AKG.

Does anyone know what the differences between the KWA and KSC AKG's are supposed to be? A store near me has begun carrying these as well.

Unfortunately, until we have the finished product in our hand, we can't say for sure.

The difference between the KSC and KWA AKG? One is out making money and the other isn't.

In all seriousness, I have heard that the big differences between KSC and KWA products are the piston (KWA uses their NS2 system which is thinner and lighter), some dimensional values, and occasionally build/material quality. I believe I read something about how KSC NPAS systems can be put into KWA LM4s so I assume the companies keep the internals close enough to the same.

The ATF are really strict about the AR-15 family of firearms but I'm not sure how strict they are with other models / makers so who knows, there might not be dimensional changes needed to keep it legal and safe. Of course we'll never know until it exists IRL.
