Sorry for being snappy - I was a little frustrated about the whole thing. I appreciate the offers of help.
Anyways, I did some research and found some cures which seems to be holding up. I ended up soaking the bucking in soapy water for a bit and then scrubbing it clean with a qtip. I then took the copper looking hop up spring and bent it more so that it would push the bucking down further. Now I just need some trial and error bending it so that the hop up is just right.
I wish i were brave enough to bend the copper piece in the first place to avoid all that waiting.
