I have removed front sights from a number of M4/M15s before but am struggling with removing the front sight from the KWA KM4-CQB. I have removed the swivel pin and swivel, but cannot get either of the pins holding the sight to the barrel (part 298 on the breakdown) to budge. I am really pounding at these pins via a small hex bit and rubber mallet with no luck. None that I have removed before have ever been this tough. Any ideas or am I missing something here?

Please search the forum before posting a topic, the CQB and M4A1 sights are very similar. The differences between them are the sling attachments. On the standard M4 there is a attachment block independent of the front sight, whereas on the CQB, the sling attaches directly to the front sight assembly. Think about that and let me know which set you want to get and I'll give you all the part numbers for that style so a KWA sales can help you finish up the order. So the dissasemble should be the same, click HERE to view a already made topic on this Forum about KWA front sights.

Yes, I had already read that before posting, but there are differences between the models and all of the documentation is for the M4 not the CQB. Was just trying to understand if there was some difference in the CQB (not documented) that would require some different order of disassembly.

Vic_man4 is correct, the only difference between the standard and the CQB front sight are the sling attachments.  CQB does not have part number 277, instead, the sling attaches to the bottom of the front sight.

Removing the front sight for both models is the same.  However, I notice your using a rubber mallet instead of a brass hammer to tap out the roll pins.  I believe that to be your problem. ;)

Radix, the part of my last post saying the difference between sights was directly taken from a PM you sent me XD
Give Radix the thanks, not me, I just saying what he would say
