So I finally got out with my MP9 this weekend and noticed that the cylinder broke out on the field. I disassembled it and this is what I found: Any ideas why?

Peg for spring sheared, spring over stretched.

Cylinder is chewed up a bit on that side only

End coil snapped off, as well as the peg.

Is this a new or used gun? It has the older green seal in it.

Order a new seal (make sure you ask for the new ORANGE seal) and a new cylinder (meant for the newer seal). It's pretty cheap for both, and I recommend ordering a spare cylinder and some more return springs when you're at it.

It was brand new when I bought it.

I'm just trying to figure out what caused it. It's only got about 500 rounds through it.

Some of these parts are listed as out of stock on the KWA Pro Shop, but call KWA (

1.626.581.1777) and talk to someone about these parts. They should have most, if not everything, in stock.

The KMP9 line is famous for having the cylinder return springs mangled quite easily. Propane and excessive use of full auto can damage the cylinder, but that's a first where I've see the breech base spring post sheared off. Another member had a post of his hammer shear off, but only after excessive use and abuse (approx. 20,000 rounds). Just give KWA a call and order some parts. Any order over $30 has free shipping!

I had the same problem as well. It only happened when I used propane in my KMP9. When I switched to green gas, I never experienced the problem again.

If you were using green gas, when this happened, I do not know what to tell you. Guess you will just need to order the new parts like apacifico3 has said.

I can get my KMP9 to shoot right with propane.  Every shot becomes erratic and violent.
