I'm surprised that politicians in Cali are not trying to ban burgers too. :P

GCW:
How is everything now that it has been a few months?
Is everything back to the way it was before Hurricane Sandy, in your community and surrounding communities?
Any thoughts on the rebuilding process?

I/we, in my area, were extremely lucky.  8 days without power, a few roof shingles lost, and a refrigerator full of food, is nothing compared to those who lost their lives, homes, businesses....There are still folks on Staten Island, NY and on the NJ cost who cannot move back to their homes over 5 months later.  Not to mention the fact that looters and squatters have moved in!  I don't know what you are hearing around the rest of the world or this country for that matter but as recently as Wednesday of this week there was a report, locally, of widespread squatting (for lack of a better term) in homes abandoned due to the Sandy devastation.  These squatters are not the downtrodden...those in need....they are scum.  Sorry, but the fact is these animals are vandalizing and stealing.  Then there are the homes that are condemned and will never be rebuilt. Those people have nowhere to go...

I am lucky and thank you for asking, others lost EVERYTHING.  Sure, some had second homes on the water....while that loss sucks they have a place to sleep.  Others are still with relatives, in hotels, or worse...in temporary shelters.

I will say, the states of NY and NJ have done amazing things to help those in need and I am frankly proud or Chris Cristy for his monumental efforts...BTY, I am not a very political person...though I do have my opinions.

Again, thank you for asking.
