Guys, it seems that the days of KWA KRISS vectors has come to an end... Any speculation as to what happened?

huh?  is this like what happened with the MP7 or somethin?  Highly odd since this gun has only been out for a couple months now...  How did KWA lose the licensing on a flagship product so early on?

The H&K issue was distributing rights; only Umarex has the right to market & distribute H&K branded products. However, KWA still manufactures certain H&K guns.

The Kriss statement makes it sound like KWA can no longer manufacture Kriss products.

From this part of the announcement:

"KRISS Arms, the Swiss global leader in firearms innovation, announces the termination of its exclusive trademark licensing with KWA. This termination affects all current and future KRISS airsoft projects, including the popular KRISS Vector SMG GBB and upcoming AEG version."

It seems that they might be opening up their 'exclusive' licensing only and KWA will still make the Kriss, etc...but other companies will be able to make Kriss arms products.

From reading this part of the announcement:

"KRISS Arms will also be actively pursuing any infringements of its patents and trademarks worldwide, including unauthorized manufacturing and distribution of KRISS product replicas.
As part of its strong commitment and support to the Milsim and professional training community, KRISS Arms will be seeking for new innovative partners in the airsoft industry to market its current and upcoming airsoft products."

This seems like there may have been some type of infrigement (maybe KSC or some other companies?)...who knows...

At this point, its fairly confusing (and i'm just speculating)

I dunno, it just seems pretty odd that both H&K and KRISS have decided to give KWA the finger. I mean really, the MP7 and the Vector were easily some of the highest selling guns in KWA's line up, not to mention the fact that countless other projects have been put on hold to make way for the Vector (reference the AKG, ERG's, many pistols etc...). Thankfully we still have Magpul PTS on board with KWA, but I'm getting worried about the future of some of these products.

I specifically didn't ask KWA for an answer because chances are they won't have one for us for a while, so we'll probably see that when it becomes available. Of course, I'd love to have a direct and quick answer from the brass themselves, but the history of this forum has taught me to expect otherwise. KWA: Kustomers Waiting Always :P At least the products are worth the wait when they actually do release.

Yeah I know but it'd be nice to know whether the "cease and desist" type comment from Kriss means mags, spares etc are going to stop being made?

Perhaps...  When H&K pulled the mp7 kwa stopped stocking parts for it, at least thats the story i got when i called the pro shop looking for a low power bolt.  They basically said the bolts would be out of stock indefinitely due to distribution rights changes.  Granted that whats going on with the kriss is different, its just not a good omen.

Definately a strange scenario waiting to see what unfolds...  For a product launch they knew would be BIG i cant explain why KWA would not lock down kriss exclusivity for a longer period.  I'm guessing something unforeseen happened but itd be a real shame if the kriss stops being made.

On a side note i wonder how retailers are reacting to this...  I live near both airsoftgi and evike and i know that both are at least out of stock.  Evike is taking pre-orders for the next wave of kriss.  Hopefully it doesn't affect folks who already placed pre orders

I was sure I wasn't going to own a Kriss Vector but now I'm 100% positive that I will never own one.

I'm so glad I spent all the money I did on the gun and mags. Now with what appears to be no parts support. Hopefully I'm wrong

I hope it doesn't mean discontinued support, but I figure we ought to expect the worst. This doesn't effect me directly, since I don't have a Vector, but I am an avid MP7 user so I know how painful it is to see your beloved product cease to exist. I was fortunate enough to have purchased all the mags I needed a while ago, so I wasn't caught in the "OH GOD I NEED MAGS" frenzy :P A couple of my teammates bought Vectors so I certainly feel their pain, since this could mean they have no more parts support.

If you're really this nervous about it, i'd go ahead and order whatever parts you think will ever need replacing relatively soon...  Sounds like you've already sunk quite a bit of cash into your kriss so a bit more to ensure longevity probably wouldn't be a bad investment.  I got a few extra spring sets when i heard of the licensing issues just to be safe.  But be thankful you have your mags already!  Those may be worth their weight in gold in the future

would help if the parts EXISTED outside the actual gun. Not even a CQB bolt was put out, and they are killing the gun

Ouch i didn't realize they hadn't even started selling spares...  I don't own a kriss so i just assumed they'd be selling spares by now on the pro shop site.  They probably have some if you really want em, but you'll most likely have to actually call them to request em.

And ya i feel your pain.  A lot of people buy KWA for the explicit reason that its easy to source parts and that support is not far away. Its a major selling point of KWA vs competitors like marui whose spare parts are often only readily stocked overseas and thus are expensive and pain in the a** to obtain.  If the kriss is well and truly "killed" its going to be a nightmare.  Complaints from people who own em, and from people wanting to get one
