I had purchased a kwa m4 series about 3 years ago, brand new from airsoft gi. I used it at an mil sim for one weekend and when I got home to clean it, I noticed it had a huge a** crack in it near the rear pin, and also, it started working like sh*t. Now, when I say sh*t, I mean that it would only fire 3-5 shots, in semi OR auto and would not fire any more unless I was to shake the hell out of it and wiggle the clip around at the same time. I was so disapointed that I just put it in the corner and havent used it tto this day because im just sooooooo sick of takeing it apart to figure out why it doesnt shoot, plus the crack is pretty bad to. And NO, it wasnt dropped at the sim either, dont know why it did that either. what to do........... anyone want a parts gun?! Lol

I just looked and found one of these cracks in my CQR. Can these cracks cause any problems if untreated?
Most likely.  I would contact KWA for a repair.

That depends on where the crack is.  Where is yours?  A picture would be valuable here.

So im guessing that it ONLY partains to this model then, the one that I spent $345 on and only really used it in one weekend mil sim , the kwa ris, is pretty much worthless. I guess I wont buy a kwa next time if they are made THAT good.

KWA, please TEST your guns like they should be, i pay dearly to ensure that  i can take my guns to hell and back, i want to be able to know that no matter what i can rely upon my guns, you guys need to treat it like sh*t. You guys should drop it form 20 feet on to cement, tumble it in a dryer (or similar device) for hours, let it sit outside for weeks at a time (of course rain will destroy every AEG). I have a G&P battle rifle that i have up to my specs and it is yet to fail me, the motor, cylinder, receiver, cage, etc is all over engineered; do this to every gun everything, please. (do it and i would happily pay 549 649 (!)for a sr-10 'premium' or whatever
a good example is an AK, i want to be able to do pushups on that AKG mag KWA; dont let me down!

people, all companies are not perfect and that include kwa. even though kwa is one of the best they still are no perfect. if you get any other gun under $200 you will have problems too, like agm full metal m4 the are metal but brake internally a lot and that goes with jg, cyma and many more. kwa is one of the best because they have a gearbox that actually doesn't need to be fixed. and any gun that has a good gearbox for under $200 is going to be plastic all the way. like g&g, echo1, and elite force. if you think hard on how the hell they made it so cheap to make the gun when a kwa gearbox costs $125 and all they did was add a polymer lower, it's just amazing. it's like their losing money. so people just buy a lower replacement from kwa for $25, and get a bag of bb's for free shipping. the lower is also 10 bucks cheaper for a echo1 plastic lower, and only $5 more than an aim sport plastic lower. so stop saying kwa is a disappointment because your gun has a crack in it, and my stills work amazingly even though mine has crakes in it also.

ive not had any problem with mine at all....   the crack i put in it was my fault and just a little super glue made that not an issue either..

but i do have a metal KWA lower as a replacement for this one if it ever becomes an issue.

I can't say whether they would or they wouldn't.  I can tell you that a simple call may help you find an affordable resolution though.  Call and ask for Jim.

I noticed one in mine too. I think I am just going to replace it with a KWA metal lower receiver. I have never dropped it or abused it in any way either. It still shoots flawlessly, and I love it other than shooting 386 fps out of the box instead of under 350 as advertised. I bought it for cqb use, but instead r-hopped it since it was shooting above 350 fps and I now use it as my main aeg.

oh I abuse mine a little, especially when my friend decides to shoot at me, I use my gun as a shield against bbs. he just broke my fake bolt and dust cover latch thingy, so the dust cover is held up with a piece of duct tape and the fake bolt had to be taken out and is all bent up. im never letting him use me as a target again.

follow up:

well it finally happened..  playing a match in the mud and fell down...  the MOD1 landed pretty hard with me on top of it...  YEP that broke it.

at the rear pin down to the pistol grip base...   this was just one of those accidents that happens.   after all it IS plastic/polymer..  good news is that the internals & upper werent harmed so just stuck them on my spare regular KWA lower and its back in biz.

but gotta admit that probably wont buy another MOD1...
