Just came across this video.  Its a stronger, wider hop up arm for our new style hop ups.  It looks compatible but they sell as a complete kit (US$30) for KWA/KSC guns which includes the barrel that we dont need for the LM4.  Anybody put an order in?

Hmmm...hopup and barrel kit for the HK45, Ill be buying it and putting that barrel into my gun. Then installing the hopup system into my LM4 as long as its compatible, which I'd imagine it is.

Don't seem to see it available yet on TMC or AST, anyone know where it's available?

Hmm, this combined with the blue bucking seems like it might be  the way to go.  Looking forward to reviews.

Alright, this is getting ridiculous and old!!!

WHY is ratech putting out the same design as kwas stock hop up??  A little thicker isnt going to do crap...we need a  different more effective design!!  Seems boobie is the only one who believes going AWAY from a brass arm is better...wtf

Not only that, but ra techs replacement hop up and barrel seems to be crap since people buy it and say theyll review it but nobodys done it yet!?  Other than to say it bumps up fps by 50 which does me no good.  AND the video they put out for it....really....

Oh and kwas own new km barrel, guys asking about fps increase and nobody from kwa can answer him?!  Can only say its been tried and true, well if im going to spend 100 on a barrel im going to need more details.  Why are you guys withholding info to us consumers, how about range and grouping?  is it better?  you say youve tested it, how about letting us in on the secret??

Yes this is a rant, yes im disappointed.  i was excited to hear ra tech come out with a hop up and then to see it looked exactly the same as the stock one....and fps increase...fml, i thought by now id be pushing 200 or more feet with some sick upgrades but i guess ill just have to let the polarstars take all the shots and ill just play with my bolt catch.

I completely agree with your "rant".  I was on the same boat but worse because my gun was useless with the bbs falling off the barrel and no hop shots.  After changing the nozzle/bolt with another stock one and having my gun back up I was happy again.  Now, like you, Im looking for more range.  The gun is pretty accurate with the RATECH barrel and hop up using heavy BB's but still I get mediocre range (barely 160-180ft if so). Its frustrating that my $120 dollar slightly modified JG bar 10 out shoots my LM4 my 50+ feet and is more accurate!

I do understand this is a new gun, aftermarket right now is very limited and whats out there is still not really proven to work better than stock.  For stock replacement hop up parts we only have ratech to try out, changing the entire hop up setup is not for everyone until boobiem4h or someone makes a breakthrough into a really good setup thats worth changing everything.  So we just need to keep waiting and keep trying out new parts.  That ratech lever seems much stronger and may actually help a lot in consistency and hopefully better range, but we need people to test it out before discarding it.

I don't think the RA-Tech barrel is crap at all, accuracy and grouping increased based on times I remember to test it at games. Really done a full review as I keep forgetting to measure the distance Im shooting and I suck at gauging distance.

I guess one thing for me is that I haven't had a single issue with my hopup, I seem to be one of the lucky ones. Though if its using the same design which has suited me fine, but made of steel it seems and widened, seems like a step forward.

It's not exactly a re-release of essentially the same system. There are several guns that are still using the old school ball bearing type hopup unit. The KSC/KWA series and ATP to name a couple. That said, I don't hate the accuracy of consistency of my ATP. For the ranges I usually am forced to pull those out, they get the job done.

Sorry slightly off topic question. Boobie I haven't heard much about any hop-up improvements lately. What is your current favorite hop-up, bucking and barrel? Do you think the best combo would be a RAT barrel and hop-up, new guarder bucking and the EVO II arm?

Right now im liking the rat tbb, oem hu unit, guarder bucking..and chances are good that the evo hop up arm will be way better then the oem arm..

I'm lookin forward to this
I definitely need to change my HU unit to make my LM4 gameable;

Currently have the ball bearing design (asian LM4 magpul edition);

Do you guys know if any of those options will or will not fit?

Paradox - I think you will need to change out the entire inner barrel and hop-up assembly if you want to switch over to the new style.

Boobie - Are you saying you like the OEM hop unit over the RAT one that comes with the the barrel?

Yes you will need to change inner barrel to the new style barrel..as the cuts are different. And the rat hu unit is i believe the same thing as the oem hu..i think they got theres from kwa or something..cause they are identical

Yeah I was under the impression that it was just a retrofit kit for the KSC M4. I assumed it was identical to the OEM. I was just wondering if there was something wrong with the RAT hop, since I thought it came with the barrel.

Any word on what types of barrels can be used? I recently ordered just the upgraded rubber, arm, and metal airseal to be used with the oem HU housing. I need to find a 300 mm tbb for my cqb upper though. I have a ksc lieing around but am not sure if it will work. Ill post links to where i bought the packing alone. It was 23.00$ so not too bad.
