Has anyone ran an aftermarket crane stock on their KWA buffer tube?
I know the G&P Vltor clone works (I have it on my CQR)
But I need another crane for rear wiring my other CQR
Pro shop is out of stock still :(

Have you checked our "3rd party compatibility" thread for more info?  I know for a fact that G&G crane stocks DO NOT work. They are commercial spec and turns out to be too small.

I don't understand alizard said the kwa buffer is milspec, if G&G is commercial it should fit mil spec as milspec is a smaller tube than the commercial one?

As I understand it milspec tube is 1.148" and commercial is 1.168" meaning commercial stocks will fit milspec, but loosely?

I'm lost...

I'm guessing that the G&G has a narrower track at the bottom on the stock where it adjusts.  Regardless, they do not fit.

kwa buffer tubes are thicker than a G&G. This is from experience.

Hate to bring this thread out from the dead but, it was the only one close to what I'm trying to get done. I bought a CQR mod2 as a b-day present to myself this year. I didn't consider the crane stock being something I would really need until I put a RIS rail on the rifle. Then realized no battery would fit not even a LiPo. I looked at the Proshop and realized that it was going to cost way more than what I was looking to spend. 25.00 (crane stock)+ 15.00 (butt plate) + $20.00 (Buffer Tube) + $3.75 (Castle Nut) + 20.00 (Crane stock Wire Harness). I didn't see anyone post any 3rd Party compatibility about crane stocks. I saw this 3rd party one comes with the buffer tube, but no indication of mil-spec or commercial http://www.evike.com/products/28552/

I had a G&G tube & stock laying around, it worked on my MOD2. The link you posted states it works on G&G

Isn't the pro shops $20 BT the same KWA buffer tube thats on your MOD?. You can add wire With an inline fuse No need for the fuse harness.

Im thinking you can use the KWA crane stock & Butt plate with your tube. total is $40

You will have to cut out a small area in the lower receiver after you rear wire the gear box so the wire can go into the BT

KWA crane stock was out of stock at the time. I used G&G It works, ill keep it.

So Tales, you had to use the G&G buffer tube and ditch the KWA buffer tube in order for the G&G crane stock to work?

Yeah, KWA only had the whole setup in stock. Crane stock, buffer tube & butt plate.

Now they have the crane stock & butt plate, Droidmodder already has the buffer tube.

My point is the link states it fits G&G if I remember the OEM G&G required some cutting of the lower KWA receiver, it was too long, Same might happen with the buffer tube in the link he posted

I think it's best he uses the crane stock & plate from kwa. The buffer tube on the mod2 should be fine?
Maybe someone can confirm this.

I didn't want to put more money into the MOD2 after changing the lower receiver, The plastic stock receiver had hairline cracks, also changed the RIS
