Is there a noticeable difference in performance between the holsters?
My first USP Serpa was from Optical Planet around $30, whats wrong with the BlackHawk's from eBay for $20
Dylan has been using one for over a year, with no problems.
Honest Question!

prover, you are aware that you cant mix mags (14rd & HCs)  on the 1911 without changing parts on the gun. One or the other.

There are several levels of Serpa and several models made of various materials with different features.  I decided on the CQC carbon fiber matte because I had seen several of the Sporster line of CQCs fail in the field when someone fell on it and broke it.

See here:

Non-locking (least expensive)
http://www.blackhawk...d-Molded,32.htm

CQC (Locking) - 2 different materials with three distinct price points

CQC Sportster - Injection molder plastic (Least expensive CQC)
http://www.blackhawk...r,1146,1410.htm

Carbon Fiber matte finish (A little bit more expensive)
http://www.blackhawk...h,1145,1410.htm (This is the one I have for several of my guns)

Carbon Fiber Finish (Most expensive of these CQC styles and models)
http://www.blackhawk...h,1144,1410.htm

In the end it's about balancing price, function, durability and ultimately value.

Hope this helps.

thanks, for clearing that up. I can see how the carbon fiber is a better choice for you. And the IMP is a better choice for Dylan.

I completely agree with that assessment.

yeah i did some research on serpas, came to the same decision that the carbon matte cqc was the best for what i needed.
durable, reasonably priced, good reviews, and the locking system to keep the pistol secure when not using it.

last thing i want is for the pistol to fly out of the holster or for the holster to hold it too tight for combat.
btw anything labeled sportline is most likely sh!tty, they even say on their website that the sportline holster isnt intended for law enforcement (meaning it wont be good for combat or reliability)

also, yes, i do realize the situation with the magazines. I intend to buy the newer 1911 model and avoid the old mags entirely.

I was wondering if you found Mags. Since last November a was able to buy three from http://www.lawingsin...7-01302.htm  He hasn't had them in stock for months. He had new14rd mags $40ea

Thats why my son wants to sell it, mags are hard to find. I look at least twice a week since last December. I did get one notice while i was online, i went to the site they sold out in seconds.
There are some used 14rd mags on eBay for $40ea he posts them every few weeks.

ATP http://www.amazon.co...rds=kwa atp mag

Good Luck, with MK Mags!

I thought the ATP was due out this month. They sell for $150 on eBay. $80 used.

M9 with the sport line holster, you can do cartwheels to a pole vault & the gun will stay in the holster

im sure the sportlines are just as secure, but they use cheaper quality materials (if i slammed against a wall, i wouldnt want the side of it cracking now would i)

checked ebay and amazon, i found a great listing for the mk IV on ebay, but sadly there are no 21 round mags for it on ebay or amazon.
might have to pull some fancy tricks to find them if they dont show up in online stores soon...
anyone know what the fps is like on the mk series and the ATP? My cqc field has a strict under 330 fps limit, and there isnt much leeway there... it might pass with 335 but anything more than that is going to be a big disappointment.

well, got a weird question. this dangerworks flute valve (http://www.airsoftgi...roducts_id=8342)
will reduce the fps of the m9, but will it also do the trick for the 1911? on top of that, could i possibly file it in some way to fine tune the fps?

Yes and yes.  In fact, I have a DWFV modified that will take an LM4 over 500 (or so I am told).  If it was not modified, it would drop it well below 380 FPS.

so am i to assume that it lets the gas go around the edges of the cylindrical valve, and that if you file the edges down the fps will increase?

It regulates the amount of gas (volume and time) that is allowed though the cylinder to power the BB.  Smaller valve or stronger valve spring = more volume and longer time for gas to enter the cylinder = increased FPS.

hm, if you could make a picture guide on how to modify one to raise fps i would be very appreciative!

Now im debating on getting the kmp9, looks like another good option. does it come with a low power bolt or do you have to buy one separately? there is no way i would be able to use a stock one at my field with 400+ stock fps.

Low power bolt is sold separately or you can put in a Danger Werx Flute Valve.  There is a tear down guide on these forums that will show you how.
