First of all this is my first airsoft gun, after reading many reviews and forums I decided the KWA KM4A would be my best choice. So I got this gun from airsplat.com and the mag that came with it worked fine until it was about half way empty and then it stopped feeding. I looked at where the BBs come out and there was a small black pin lodged in there blocking the BBs. (turns out this was the sprocket wheel pin, MG-317) I tried to get airsplat to replace it but they wanted me to send the whole gun back so I said forget it and tried to fix it myself. I got the gear #2 back in and the pin in but the pin just kept falling out again (no way to hold it in that I can see). Anyhow I went and got a new mag (no idea of the brand it was all in asian) and after filling and shooting it 3 times the exact same thing happened!

Can anyone tell me if I am doing something wrong here or is this just a real bad coincidence? I was planning to order some more mags from KWA but they are out of stock at the moment.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I don't own a KWA, but high caps are pretty much high caps as far as design goes.  So they aren't feeding correctly or not at all?  Did you wind it up again?  Do you have enough bbs?

You might already know this, but high caps won't feed the last 20 rounds or so.

I really don't know what to tell you.  I suggest you pick up some midcaps.

Was the brand, by any chance, MAG? Because those are not confirmed to work with a KWA. Some mags don't work.

Is there any way you could tell us the brand?

Pull the tab by the spot where the BB's come out and if a bunch of BB's come out, your hicap works, but its something with the gun. If it doesnt, lube the mag a bit and then give it a try.

I don't know the brand of the new mag, no english on package except for "made in china". Both mags worked until the pin fell out of each. The mag will wind but the BBs do not feed up to the exit hole, or if they do they fall right back down and you can hear the spring inside unwind real fast.

You made a mistake by taking apart your mags. They were both perfectly fine, that's just what hi caps do. The tube sometimes can have like 60 rds inside and you will have to tip the gun upside down for the last of the bbs to feed. This is why some people really can't stand caps! If you don't like this or can't live with using hi caps I suggest that you get your self 6-7 g&p 130rd mid cap mags or 6-7 s-arms 160 rd mid cap mags. Both of these mags are full metal and are really nice!

The mags were not taken apart. The pins fell out while I was shooting the gun and jammed in the feed tube. I am just wondering if both my mags were defective or if this sort of thing happens for some other reason.

Return for Refund where accepted, thats all I ahve to say. Cheap "made in china" mags are dirt, I hope you payed less than $10 for them or else you made a bad mistake. Buy another KWA high cap, cause their the best!

I'm with Shmoogly, go buy some midcaps.

Could you give us a link to the page where you bought them?

Yeah, I think it could have been a lemon mag.

Yeah, I think it could have been a lemon mag.

The first mag was a KWA that came with my M4 and the second mag I purchased at a local store. If you can tell what brand it is, more power to ya. I guess I just got two lemon mags but really wanted to know if this pin falling out is common or if these are just isolated instances.

Sorry that I am nitpicking

It is metal, right? Otherwise it would be a pretty shiny plastic...

I think you got the rare shot of having 2 lemon mags. I, and by "I", I mean my buddies and I, have had multiple highcaps, and nothing is wrong with them. The biggest problem we have had was when my DBOY m4 highcap had a stick stuck in it, but I just got it out and continued to play  :)

Hope you get those mags working :)

My mag did the same exact thing which is why I am in need of another one. I can tell you the A & K motorized box mag is not good.

Honestly, for a mag of that "cheapness" I would have to say... what do you expect?

Go mid-cap. Mid-caps are the best, highcaps make too much noise and winding them can take as long as switching them

This is what happens when you don't lube your hi caps! I was with 5 people crossing a bridge to make a sneak attack and I had to change my mag, so i put in my hi cap which was full and and fully wound, and it un wound when I put it in my rifle. It ruined our whole suprise and it pissed me off really bad.... Screw hi caps, the only good ones are kwa!

Did you eat BB's because of that?

I would stick with mid caps Munch, or atleast get good high-caps and not cheap no-name china brands where there are no warrenties.

Munch, the second mag that you purchase is most likely dBoy or JG aftermarket.  Not necessary a bad magazine.  However, I'm more concern with your KWA mag.  I have to ask you a few more questions.

1. When you assemble tye mag, can you still shoot?!
2. Can you show me pictures of where the pin fall out.

I can not shoot the mag because I couldn't get the pin to stay put. I would put the gear back and insert the pin but there was no way to keep the pin in, I tried pressing it in but to no avail. The pin in the KWA mag came out with the BBs through the feed hole when I dumped them out and the gear just floated around loose inside until I took the mag apart.

If you want me to help you I need to see a picture of your mag.  Not a diagram!

I think its porbably a JG, the Dboy mags are black with grey text, or atleast the ones at the airsoft store I visit in Toronto.

It must be JG, my DBOY mag was metal. What a crappy mag!
