Very nice! But aren't the KWA gears in the current batch already thicker than Systema's?

Can't wait to find out more!

OH MY GOSH- KWA just outclassed a Systema! Keep up the work, KWA!

Can we get a reduced price if we want to swap out our current gearboxes with the 2009 verson when it comes out?

That is pretty intense. It looks a lot larger than 1mm, but measurements never lie.
KWA's are turning into computers, a new and better one keeps coming out.

Have to agree. Making the best even better. I would wait until the '09s come out to get one, but I'm not sure if I can wait that long. So I'm off to order mine. And I'll just have to get a second one when the '09s come out.

Are there any external markings that vary from model to model?

If I were to purchase from a retailer as early as March/April, I want the newest model.  How would one tell, especially ordering online?  You'd have to ask the retailer

Just wait for the March announcement.  You'll know why and how to tell from the 2009 model.

A company that actually listens to their customers and cares to improve their products... now, I'm not really a 'fanboi' of anything, but I am impressed.

Ya know.... "giddy" is a word practically never used to describe me, but it's starting to get damn close.

I'm iching to get a KM16 for a USMC battle rifle build.

KWA... you tease...

Remember also that KWA MAY release their new bucking design as well. I can tell you its performed very well for me so far. I just installed a EDGI 6.01mm tight bore (and I can tell you this thing is a work of art, extremely well made), so I will be testing the new bucking design with one of the best barrels and I'll let you all know how she shoots in my KM16BR with KSC .3g's after the weekend.

I was saving for a new EI vest... but it seems like KWA has once again turned my head! LOL!

A litte OT question: What kind of metal is the KWA metal body made of? Aluminum? Magnesium?  I was thinking of using Birchwood casey Alu black.

Damn im so excited. I nearly just pissed myself

I ordered mine from Airsoft GI december 25 (day I got my money I spent it on this work of art, and I dont regret it one little bit). Will mine likely have the new gears you described? Thanks KWA, if this new version has some trades on it, ill without a doubt spent another 300 or so dollars on it. Keep up to good work.

I too am excited, and anxiously waiting to see what Kwa has in store for 2009!  This gives me an excuse to purchase my 'wife' a rifle now.  Maybe even one for my Border Collie  .

Continue where we left off.

Besides the sector gear, spur gear and bevel gear is now also heat treated.  And now even the Anti-reversal latch is heat treated.

If you look closely, the untreated one on the right already have some wear mark.

Anyway, moving on to the Cylinder and Piston.

From right to left, 1st gen, 2nd gen, 3rd gen.

Comparing 1st gen and 3rd gen.  Not only the metal plate is heat treated, the 1st tooth on the piston area is also reinforced.  And the tooth is a few mm lower to help engaging the sector gear (AOE)  Material is also change.  And it's something you can't see from naked eye.

That's awesome. You guys are REALLY impressing me. I think I will have to pick up another one of your AEG's.
Kind of makes me wish I waited to buy mine. Though, I'm pretty sure I have one of the newer models as I only ordered it December 25 from Airsoft Gi.
