How many mags do you guys run using your lm4?
How many do you use a game?

I have 1 right now and I am trying to decide how many more to order (if I order more I save more) So i want to order all my mags at one time.

What is a good number of GBB mags to have for every game?

I play in a field environment, no cqb.

I have 3 and it gets the job done fine. If you fire controlled bursts or semi only, you will find time when there's a pause in the fight to reload mags... Only once did I realize that I needed to reload magazines during a firefight. But to be honest, it gives you an adrenaline-rush like no other and maximizes the fun of the game.

With that said, I'd really want to have 6 just to be sure I have enough rounds to get the job done during an extended fight with non-stop action.

How many mags do you guys run using your lm4? 6 Total (1+5)
How many do you use a game? 1-3 On Average
What is a good number of GBB mags to have for every game? Depends on the game type and what type of shooter you are. I'd recommend having a minimum of 3 (1+2), though I recommond having 5+

I run 4 mags for all my GBB guns. I figure with burst fire that's about a minimum of 40 shots, with single fire max of 80 -160 per gun (depending on mag capacity). Keeping in mind I also run a pistol or shotgun secondary.

I play longer milsim type games, and 6 was pushing it. I have 9 now, that's all I'll probably go with as they are so damn heavy!

You can never have enough magazines in a firefight but it's simple to reload the LM4 magazines with the KWA bulk loader.  Don't lose the little LM4 adapter.  I've considered getting a second loader and gluing the adapter on it to dedicate it to LM4 service.

The LM4 will teach you the vital importance of a zeroed rifle and fire discipline fairly quickly.  The LM4 magazines are heavier than loaded M16 magazines so you learn weight discipline too.  No more hosing down the area with a 10 ounce 300+ round AEG!  :)

Shoot dark BBs to get the most training value too.  No white BB tracer effect so you gotta use the sights and zero the gun.

I run the same as Boobie, and I have been using the Elite Force Milsim Max .32; dark brown and very hard to see.

That's the other thing to consider when running gas mags. My brother weighs about 130, so any more than 3 mags (LM4 or MP7) weigh him down in a full sprint, whereas I used to push 310 (going 270 now) so 4 are nothing to me.

Good point. You need to see how much weight you can carry without being dragged down. I am about 225, and I carry 6 mags, which is not bad for me. I am used to carrying 6-10+1 7.62x39 mags as well as front and back plates and a couple liters of water.

I weigh 115 and I run three mags, but I don't get weighed down.  I'll let you all know my respiratory status after running 6 mags tho! LOL

I always play with a good friend of mine who also runs an LM4. We only play outdoor so we hardly every use full auto. We both run 4 so a total of 8. However, we both also carry speed loaders in our backpacks so the other can reload. Probably going to buy more mags for a total of 7 myself.

thank you all for the great input.
and I weigh in at about 200 pounds 6ft2in.

I will probably end up getting about 5 more mags.

Can I have a link to the speed loader you guys are talking about?

they seem to be the only pace that has them in stock for that matter, but $62 a mag is a little pricey, compared to a lot of other places that are out of stock have them listed at $55-58 a mag. I am probably just going to be patient and wait. Its cold anyways.

My broke a** runs 3 mags, I think you could get by with 5 mags, ( reloading smoothly is key ). But will be running 6 total when finished.
