Decided the best way to put my new firing pin in was too remove the action from the lower and insert it there. I was none the wiser since no one could help me with installation...

Now my gun is back together but: The hammer doesn't stay down/cocked; the trigger doesn't fire.\

Does this have something to do with the main spring?

Also when I put parts 33, 32 and 34 back together part 34 is falling down whilst in the weapon and now that its entirly assembled it only moves slightly when pushed from the hammer.

Also the part i replace (part #60) still falls out of its hole etc.

Please help

Hey Gabez, sorry to hear about the problem. I would recommend that you submit a ticket on the help desk and send your gun in to KWA for fixing. They'll know for sure how to fix it. If this is not an option for you, you can call them up and ask if it's possible to speak to a tech to see if they could provide any advice. KWA's number is 626-581-1777. They are open 8:30am to 5:30 pm PST weekdays, closed weekends.

Good luck getting your gun fixed.

Can you take a picture of how you are installing 32, 33, and 34? They are held by the same pin so one shouldn't be falling. Part 60 will fall out at certain points during assembly so you will need to hold it down.

It seems that part 32, 33 and 34 are all stable once I've assembled the saftey, hammer and beaver tail. I'm almost 100% sure the problem is in the mainspring that rests in the pistol grip.

Just to clarify does anyone else's part 34 fall down before they've installed the safety? That is the only par thats moving.

And why does no one check these forums? I've searched hundreds of similar topics and they have no replies....

Hi GabezR - Sorry you haven't received the answer to your question.  I assure you the Staff, Mods, and Members do their best to answer everyone.  That said, have you tried contacting KWA directly?  As Outlaw suggested you could speak with a KWA Tech if you give them a call.  They are open 9:00am to 5:30 Pacific Time Monday-Friday (closed weekends and holidays) and the number is 626-581-1777  Internationally you would dial 00-1-626-581-1777.

Now, VictorNica, KWA Staff, had replied to you and asked for a picture to help diagnose the issue.  Could you post one?  It may get you to a resolution more quickly.

Thanks for the reply gcw, I must say the first thing I thought of when I saw your name was John Cleese saying " A message! A message from the lord!" From Monty Pythons King Arthur Movie.

Anyways back to businesss, I shall post a pic tomororw.
By "falling" down I just mean dropping. IE: not staying in the upright position.

Wish I could help you.  I have never needed to take my MKIV apart as far as you have yours so I can't really add anything at this point.

Okay just got of the phone with a tech. Didn't help whatsoever, just told me to send it in and then said "Oh I can't help you over the phone". Wouldn't even answer my questions...

Anyways heres the pics of how I aligned 32-34, I took the pic outside the compartment so you could see it better etc.

Hey Gabezr, sorry for not posting onto the thread. I've never disassembled my gun this far down, but there's a video that I posted that shows some guy taking apart his entire 1911, and putting it back together. Here's the link:

http://kwausa.com/fo...9867#entry88101

Good luck getting that thing back together!

It's the second vid you are going to want to watch in order to fix your gun.

Okay what I mean is the gun wont fire when the firing pin is pushed entirely into the action, it seems this pushes the actual hammer  to far forward to activate, so it only works when its "half-in" what I need to know is how to put it completely in so the guns still fires but the pin doesn't fall out.
