Would this have anything to do with vfc expansion of various h&k offering?

//sorry for odd autocorrect words by my phone//

Seems like a very crappy business desicion on KWA's part to not inform the customer base that this would be happening.

It's not like KWA woke up one morning and suddenly the H&K license was revoked.

lmao @ 240 FPS with .12. I don't know what market Umarex targeting with that thing, it's priced way to high for little kids, and no serious airsofter would by that. I am not angry at Umarex or KWA, I am just disappointed in H&K for letting Umarex take their likeness in this direction...

It wouldn't surprise me if that did in fact happen. KWA was producing H&K trademarked products before Umarex stepped into the picture. The agreement  between H&K and KWA most likely had a clause that would allow H&K to sell their exclusive licensing rights, and the purchaser's rights would supersede any previous agreements that KWA had, which would allow the purchaser to pull the plug on any KWA H&K products at any time. Additionally, it wouldn't surprise me if a non-disclosure agreement would have come into play while Umarex was distributing  KWA produced products (hence why no KWA rep commented when I stumbled upon something being up a few months back: http://kwausa.com/fo...dpost__p__86798)

Marketing. GM makes a big profit off of a cheap car like the Cruze. And since its cheap more people buy it. And when it falls apart in 5 years, they buy another one. Umarex doesn't put anything into LPEGs and springers, and children are going to pick a cheap, crappy gun that will last for a month over a nice one that will last for years, and with repair parts you can keep it going forever. Its about tricky marketing and assuming that your buyers are stupid enough to fall for it.
Its how economy works these days and its sad.

On a side note, I am furious at Umarex. I am not angry at KWA though. I think they are in the same boat we are. The HK line was a huge part of their lineup, and they are definately going to take an income hit for this. I feel bad for them, they're two biggest successes IMO, the M Series & MP7, are forced to be discontinued. I just hope the KRISS partnership is good and lasts, and i hope the Sphynx and Vector end up being huge hits.

As far as I understand it, Umarex does not produce anything, they are distributors. So unless they are purchasing the guns @ $5 - $10 a unit, I can't see them making much $$ on a per unit basis.

Agreed cheap items do make money in the long run if marketed correctly, but I think the new MP7 is on the expensive end of the price spectrum for the business model they are going for their "economical" products...

What I want to know is when did KWA know this?  I find it hard to believe that KWA didn't have prior knowledge and just let their customers continue to buy these products knowing that it was going to be discontinued.  One word...shady.

I just bought an MP7 and HK45 one week ago :wtf2:

I believe anything and everything that is fully assembled (mags, low power bolt, guns) is discontinued.

That's why I said I wouldn't be surprised if some sort of NDA came into play. Additionally, KWA was the manufacturer, Umarex was the distributor holding the licensing, word should have had to come from Umarex that THEY were discontinuing the lines.

This is why Umarex dropped the KWA deal, they will make more money off of this piece of crap.

Yes they will continue to service guns, just like the M series.

Ok thanks! And yes I agree since they will continue to service them, mags are a HUGE priority now.

Well, at least since the guns will become rare people who didn't buy as many mags as they wanted will be able to sell them for a decent price.  Assuming KWA doesn't continue making them.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Are you kidding me, the MP7 or MP9 was on my dream list. Wait, the MP9, was it actually officially licensed or not? Or does that matter. I really wanted a GBB smg, was planning on getting one next fall when I had got my AEG project over with.
This really sucks.

Seriously, if anyone has any info on the specifics if they will sorta slide by and not make it officially licensed or trades on it PLEASE post.
