Sorry for asking if this is plainly detailed elsewhere, but what exactly is the "new hop up"? I just bought a brand new ATP, but (at least visually) the hop up is identical to all my other KWA guns. What's been changed / improved in regards to the HK45?

Thanks.

Let's 1st take a look at the diagram on orignal USP.

then the HK45 diagram

As you can see the new hop-up no longer using the little ball as hopup nub.

Now let's take a looking inside the bucking.

Thanks for the great details. So, does the new design simply improve accuracy? Or are there other benefits?

By having two points of contact on the bb instead of just the traditional one, this new hop up design boasts greater accuracy, stability, and range.

Good to know. Thanks. So, to be clear, that new system is not employed in the ATP. Correct? I just looked at mine, and saw nothing like those two prongs. But, I also don't even see anything like a ball baring, either, when I twist the hop-up all the way to the left. Am I supposed to see something?

Additionally, what other new KWA guns will have this improved hop-up?

So far, the only other gun to have this incorporated new hop up design is the LM4 PTR.

I haven't been able to get a 100% confirmation but the new Sphinx DSP will probably have the new design hop-up as well.

I don't like the new design..my hk45 out of the box would not shoot anything less then a .40g bb..I had to bend the tb so it didn't apply soo much hop up. In my lm4 I completely removed the guts of the hop up unit and used the old style with ball bearing.

@allizard
Will the new hopup unit be able to drop into present ns2 systems?(ATP,M11a1,KMP9,etc.)

Sphinx DSP? Is that an official press release? :P
Their "Barrel Extensions" would be a good line to produce.

Thanks.

I actually get really good performance with KSC 0.30g bbs with the new hop up.  Compared to my ATP, i get much less shot to shot variation and significantly more range with the new design.

I actually bent the tab in the hop up that applies the downward pressure for hop up..now I can shoot .30g bbs no problem.

Agree with this.  Both range and consistency are slightly better, but the old design was working good to begin with.  These results with 0.25s.

freaking awesome tip. I just installed the creation outer barrel and tbb but for some reason the bbs kept on lobbing up. After rebending the copper lip, now I can shoot .28s straight as Richard Simmons.

Thx boobs, save me a few bucks on new bucking.
