My M18C sometimes fails to cycle completely because the hammer doesn't lay flush with the frame. This allows the hammer to be worn down by the bbu or the slide sticks because of the protrusion.

Does anyone know what causes this?

That'd be pointless, whatever usually holds the hammer down has contracted a case of failitis :P
