Some big news coming down the pike with the new lineup. I noticed that in the new catalog that BOTH the new AK47 and the G36C are now listed as lipo-compatible. What changes have been made to the G36C/V3 gearbox? In other posts here the official word was that lipo batteries were not a design consideration when that gun was released, but it would appear something has changed.

The gearbox now have the same strong piston and gears systems like the newer M4.  And it's been testing with Lipo uses.

That's great. I may never go beyond 9.6, but it's nice to know it's capable. I've been wanting a G36C replica for awhile now, and it seems the most robust and well built version is now even better. When does the new version get released?

Grr. I'm starring at 300 bucks. I'm hoping allizard replies saying the new version is already shipping. Wishful thinking.

It's almost June. When can we expect the updated G36C to be available? Late June?

Most, if not all, of the KG36C at our retailers now are the updated versions capable of handling 11.1V lipo batteries. :)

This may be a stupid question, but how do I know if I have one of the updated ones?  I recently bought a KG36C from an online retailer.

If you bought it from a "Authorized" KWA Retailer after March of 2009 then there's a good chance they are the updated version.  We can't and do not verify Asian or European versions.

Allizard is referring to the official 2009 models which will be released in Sept. this year.  What I was referring to are the "updated" versions.  I know, its confusing.

also i bought it from airsoft atlanta which is an offical kwa seller. if used a 11.1 lipo in it doing burst shots only it should last a while because i know the internals are really good. so the kwa 2gx gearbox will be avaliable for the g36c when? cause if i ever need a new one...which i hope i wont for a long time : D i want to be able to get the 2gx and not even thing else to my understanding in a basic breakdown the only thing that changed was the gearbox and hop up and teh barrel has a longer groove on it and teh markins thats it : D

First, the 2GX gearbox is a Type 2 gearbox.  There are no plans for a 2GX Type 3 gearbox at the moment.  The Type 3 gearbox does not have the inherit flaws of the Type 2 so there's really no need for the 2GX treatment.  IMO, the current Type 3 gearbox is as strong as the 2GX. :)   Officially, the 2G bucking is NOT in the current versions of KG36C.  They will be a standard feature in the 2009 model which ships in Sept.

Limited production and high demand for KWA products means you will always be buying the latest at our retailers (no outdated inventory). :)
