Hi. Im new to the community and to Airsoft in General

I just got my new G36C 2GX (with the smaller handguard) a few days ago and my new 11.1v Lipo batteries arrived today from elite airsoft batteries They are Mini Type. ... but they wont fit in the handguard. They are not too long or too wide, they are too tall. The handguard slides on but wont go the last 1/4 inch because the guides inside the front of the handguard won't line up with the slot they slide into.  It seems other people had no issues with this... seems kinda silly a lipo ready gun wont fit a mini lipo battery  :  (

I also recieved a 7.4v lipo that does fit (barely) due to a shipping error... but the 11.1 shoots so much better.

the 11.1 dimensions are 5/8" Tall (too tall),  3 3/4'' long, 1 1/4'' wide
The 7.4 dimensions are 1/2" Tall (just fits), 3 3/4" long, 1 1/4" wide

1) Has anyone purchased an 11.1v lipo that does fit in this handguard? What brand, where did you buy it, what shape was it?
2) Can anyone suggest an aftermarket handguard that will accomidate a larger battery?
3) Any suggestions to safely modify the handguard for fitment?
4) What is the maximum dimension battery that will fit?

I haven't used this particular battery, but have used a similar firefox one in my KWA G36C.

I think this will work, but can't promise.

I wouldn't worry abut maximum dimensions (but it appears that your 7.4V lipo is about it).  As long as you don't buy your lipos from an airsoft store, they are cheap.  So just buy 3-4 lower capacity batteries and just switch them out as needed.

I've definitely gotten an 11.1 firefox tricell in my G36C. I know they come in different lengths. The one I have that works has cells that are 4 inches in length. The one that is 5 inches in length is too long for the G36C.

Thanks for the suggestions, i sent a ticket to KWA tech support for the maximum battery dimensions that will fit, hopefully I can find an affordable 11.1 that will work.

Hobby Partz has affordable lipos.  Follow the link to see lipos with Tamiya connectors so it will just be plug and play.  Deans or XT60 connectors are better but if you want it simple then go with one of these.  Dimensions are also provided.

HI,

I did get an answer from a KWA tech at the help desk.

According to KWA Helpdesk, the max battery dimension for the smaller 2gx hand guard is: L 3.625” x W 1.125” x D .625” or Metric: 92mm x 28.6mm x 15.9mm

They also referenced this KWA uTube video for battery info on KWA’s AEGs:

The video says the 11.1v BOL lipo in the pro-shop will fit the G36C and the video description has the measurements at 100mm x 30.6mm x 16.45mm

According to 2 people that posted before, one indicated he could fit a 4” (101.6mm) long battery but not a 5” (127mm). And another linked to a EAB that should fit at 4.2” long (106.6mm)

So it sounds like the max dimensions are closer to L 106.6mm x W 30.6mm x D 16.45mm with maybe a few more mms to spare on length.

But since lipos can swell up, I suppose it’s a good idea to get a battery under the width and especially the depth as there doesn’t seem to be much room to spare.

If anyone else can post links to the batteries they use it would help!

I found the dimensions for it that particular battery on a different ebay listing: http://www.ebay.com/...y-/150819550161

There are 3 cells with the dimensions 4.9 in. x 0.8 in. x 0.2 in If you stacked up the 3, it would be 4.9 x 0.8 x 0.6\

The width and depth are within what KWA advised, the length is a bit long and another poster on this thread said 4" fit and 5" was too long. I wouldnt count on it fitting.

If you dont want to measure, guess and hope, Try eliteairsoftbatteries.com go to [Batteries for my gun] [KWA] [G36c 2gx] and there will be all the batteries that they offer that they can confirm will fit. They dont make an 11.1 small enough so if you want an 11.1 that fits, you can find the same BOL battery from the KWA proshop that does fit on other sites for less like here: http://shop.ehobbyas...cells-pack.html

That battery will fit in the M4A1/CQB front stock (though the wires can be a PITA), the crane stock, and the full stock.  I have used it in both my M4A1 and SR5.

It won't fit in the G36C stock as far as I know.

The firefox tri cell I have is 100 mm in length. I can't find that anywhere. This madbull battery is 110mm and should work. However, I can't guarantee it.
