Hello, all!

Alright, a few months back I heard about the KWA 1911 US Army, and have been quite excited about it... I love the 1911, particularly that style.

Anyway, here are my questions:
1. When is the current release date? Quarter 1 is over, and I haven't seen anything about an updated release date, so is there one? (and yes, I saw the other thread, but it's been a week or two since the last reply).
2. Is there a way to reduce the FPS? I saw (here: http://kwausa.com/pr.../1911a1-usarmy/) that they will shoot 340-350 fps. The CQB areas around here are 335fps. I've heard of like tornado nozzles (I think they go in the mags?), or something, that increase fps, but am not sure if there is anything to lower it. I am new to the GBB world, so any advice would be appreciated.
3. How interchangable are the 1911's parts going to be with other companies' parts? I know that KWA is quite proprietary on the AEG side, but what about the GBB Pistol side of things?

Thanks!

Answering your questions:
1. The release date has been pushed back to Q4. Which means to expect it Holiday 2012- to March 2013.

2. Using the gun enough will lower your fps reading. Although KWA gives an estimate of the fps, it is not the same for all pistols. While the M9 is said to shoot 330-350, mine was shooting 366 out of the box, then after use it is shooting around 320-330. So I'm sure that little fps difference won't matter that much.

3. I don't know about interchangeability, but KWA says the magazines from the MK series will be compatible with the US ARMY. Not much else is known. We will have to wait and see if the parts are also interchangeable.

Welcome to the forum dude!!

A typical FPS for a GBB pistol is around 330-350.  I am not aware of any aftermarket parts (like a jet nozzle) that can reduce FPS for this particular line.
And interchangeability of parts with aftermarket products would really depend on what part you are referring to.  It would be true for just about any gun produced by various manufacturers in the market today.
And I know there are some myths about how KWA AEG's are proprietary but other than a few parts they are actually not.  Take it from someone that does some crazy things to their KWA's. :)

You can drop in a DangerWerx flute vale to drop the FPS about 30-50 FPS

See here: http://www.airsoftgi...roducts_id=8342

I know it says for MP7 and MP9 but it is compatible with other KWA cylinders...so I've been told.  Please note it is not a KWA supported or approved product and will void your warranty.
