Nope. Last I knew it required a barrel, bolt and lower swap. One of the selling points was that SOF could use AK mags. The idea was you could hide your tracks and use battlefield pick-ups in a pinch. In airsoft, it should only require a lower swap (maybe a nozzle swap because of feed lips and loading).

I know the real Masada can run AK rounds with a barrel swap, but I thought they used a proprietary mag to hold the rounds?
The PTS AEG needs its own mags, not the real one. As far as I know.

Perhaps this is why the AKG is taking so long? Maybe they're trying to make the AKG maga and gun design mesh with the future Masada design, allowing people from either the AKG or the LM4 to use their previous mags... who knows!

A lower swap allows the ACR to accept AK-74 type mags

The AEG requires just a lower receiver swap. The real one (as far as I know) requires a barrel, bolt, and lower swap. Now I don't know if you can just do a lower swap if it's a 5.56 AK mag.

Has anyone asked where this rail could be had? I just bought a magpul PTS LM4, I was going to put a 10" noveske on, but this rail looks WAY cooler. Possibly lighter as well.

Anyone know where I can get the rail???

That's an Rainier Arms Evolution rail. If you want it now, you need to buy RS. Otherwise you need to wait till PTS releases their Rainier Arms licensed products.

Figured. Do you guys think the rail will be sold separately? I'd hope so. Dun feel like going RS unless I had an Ar-15.

Guess I'll get the Noveske and switch it out later.

Only uscmCorps may know that. If you want a slick rail, check out the Madbull TRX or MFR.

Meh. I'd rather have a noveske. Hope they do release that rail so I can put it on my guns.

Well the Mega Arms LM4 has under gone some changes since SHOT show. It now has a Mega Arms rail on it, instead of the Evo. Other than that not much more info. They don't have an ETA on when it will be available.

Hello all,

I hope no one minds me reviving this thread. I specifically made an account on here to see if I could get some info on the MA LM4. It's been awhile since I last played airsoft, but a couple buddys of mine have talked me into getting back into it. I want to buy this gun but it seems that one one has been talking about it for a couple of months now.

I did some research and supposedly the gun was going to be available around summer/fall? It's around that time and I haven't been able to find news of it's release at all. I don't know, maybe it was just a rumor.

I remember getting an E-mail from MA earlier in the year about how they couldn't get the patent for their Monolithic upper. Obviously from the above post they changed the rail to their own now (key mod rail I guess?) but did this push back the release date of the gun? Anymore info about this would be appreciated, I'm really looking forward to getting back into airsoft, but I think I'm going to wait until this sucker is released.

Hey, we're right there with you. Also, welcome to the forums!

Personally I've been in an airsoft drought for a while, partly because of school work but also because of location and the current direction in which the local community is moving. My school gets essentially four seasons of winter, so when I return to my hometown for the summer I usually have some time for playing. With this in mind, I haven't really paid much attention to the updates of KWA products, but if it's anything like things have been in the past we won't hear anything about it until POOF it's available for pre-order.

Regardless of the MA LM4, the LM4 system could benefit greatly from a one piece upper. Thankfully my upper has not fallen apart yet, but it never feels as solid as I want it and I'm hesitant to put large optics on the upper. Maybe when the PTR Masada/ACR is released in 2035 we'll finally have a solid GBBR STANAG platform to use.

Thanks man. I haven't played airsoft in a couple a years, then my friends were telling me how they all use gas guns now and they ended talking me into joining them sometime.

Problem is I sold all my guns when I quit playing. So needed to find a replacement, but it had to be gbbr. When I saw the MA LM4 earlier this year I got all exited because MA is my favorite lower receiver manufacturer.

I talked to PTS about two months ago and I was told that they were still trying to gauge how popular the MA LM4 would be. Honestly that doesn't really bode well for it. KWA has really been struggling to keep anything (guns, parts, mags..) in stock and when they get restocked it's so few units. There are also some LM4 performance and reliability issues that KWA has yet to address. This has kind of turned off a whole lot of people who were really enthusiastic about KWA guns. Don't get me wrong, I love my LM4 and PTPs, but my next GBB purchases will probably be another brand. I'm not the only one that feels this way and unfortunately we've seen a pretty committed and awesome community crumble. It's very sad and I wish it wasn't the truth.

I wasn't aware anyone really had a "favorite" AR15 lower receiver.  :)  The M16 receiver is public domain and anyone can make one -- or a reproduction.  Keep in mind that any "brand name" licensed airsoft gun pays a royalty to the real gun manufacturer just for the "trades."  The RM4 is needlessly expensive because KWA is paying royalties to MagPul.  Not sure how much, but it's there.

I suppose it makes sense that they would reevaluate the MA LM4, but in the mean time what's stopping them from releasing an upper receiver? Is KWA restricting the production of one-piece uppers? Of all the things I want changed on the LM4 currently I think that would have to be it, and while the MA is supposed to offer that I can't see why it would be so difficult to do the same for regular and Magpul LM4's.
