I can't say about the compatibility, but I would definitely be interested in the 16" government profile outer barrel.... Then all we would need would be the inner barrels to go with those lengths.

It's not quite that simple. To do the conversion he wants he'd need a straight profile barrel. The barrel extension on the LM4 is a stepped profile which means that the replica piston gas system wouldn't sit right on it. It's doable so long as he also replaces the barrel extension with a 5" straight profile barrel extension. He could for example get a couple 2" and 1" barrel extensions and screw them together to make up the difference. But the other problem is that the piston gas block is held in place on the barrel by cross pins rather than hex screws. The 2" barrel extensions don't have those holes to accommodate that. They could be machined in of course. Just wanted to point out that its not as simple as buying the piston gas block and he'd be done. But it is doable.

If I'm not mistaken, doesn't the gas piston and block directly replace the original gas block? It wouldn't be on the stepped portion of the barrel but rather on the exact section of the barrel the gas block sits on now...

EDIT: Realized he wanted a midlength set-up. Instead, you could keep the 7" DD RAS with the gas piston kit. That'll work.

I would love a 14.5 mid-length.

Onto another question of compatibility... can anyone confirm whether or not aftermarket barrels made for the KSC M4 are compatible with the LM4? I'm trying to convince a manufacturer to produce KSC/LM4 government profile outer barrels (i.e. no M4 steps forward of the gas block) in 14.5" mid length, 16" mid length, and 16" rifle length configurations.

They do.
You might want to search for the topic here in which I compared a KSC M4 and a KWA LM4.
Speakin of which it might deserve to be pinned to make it easier for people...

Hey emperor, don't you think it's a little tacky to suggest your own topic be pinned...

Okay, let's pin your comparison topic to provide that information to people. Where is it?

There's no need not to be civil. All I am saying is that it's not good forum etiquette to request your own post be pinned.

To be honest there are a lot of posts that are really informative and maybe should be pinned. Akira's bolt catch mod is a great example. In my personal opinion, while I really enjoyed your comparison thread, it is more of an "entertainment" than information thread. Since this is a USA forum, it is illegal for most users to have the KSC M4, and therefore the information contained in the thread not necessarily useful to the majority of the members. If you look at the currently pinned threads they all have information that is beneficial to most, if not all, users. Don't take it personally, I really liked your thread, but in my humble opinion I think it isn't something most people will constantly reference.

I see your point and you are also right.
But why I think such information would be useful to be highlighted because there is an expanding amount of accessories available for the KSC/KWA platform. But most people do not know what they can use from the KSC ones and what not. And as you could read, most accessories work with both platforms.
I usually see topics here about such questions weekly.

If someone just took the information from my topic to write it into a short sticky I would be really okay with that. I do not care whose topic it is, what I care about is information getting to people.
And I am definitely not telling anyone here what to do. I am just suggesting. :)

I agree that there seem to be more accessories, and it's really exciting. As for the weekly questions, I think sticky or not, people will still ask. My biggest problem with this forum is no one ever searches, especially the new people. Everyone is really quick to post new threads and they think their problem is unique.

I agree that a summary of the compatible and incompatible parts would be nice. Maybe the best solution is for you to post a short list on this thread since it is the 3rd party compatibly topic.

Yeah, I agree with you on that.

Okay, I will do a short compatibility guide. :)

I do not know if I am in the correct section to be asking this question, but I will ask it anyway.   Will this rail system fit on the LM4? http://www.airsoftgi...roducts_id=4747

You are in the correct section but please read prior posts. That question has been answered at least 6 times in this thread.

Greetings all. I hope its cool to ask this here since my efforts to search for an answer have failed: I just recently got my LM4 and I wanted to find out if a real steel Daniel Defense EZ Car 7.0 and/or Daniel Defense Omega 7.0 would fit my LM4. Does anyone have any experience or know if these real steel rails will fit an LM4?

Thanks in advanced for any input!

The RS rails should fit. I myself own the Madbull DD Omega rail; I believe the primary difference between the RS & airsoft version is the metal quality.

Does this rail have a proprietary barrel nut? If so, be aware that the threading on the LM4 is different from RS.

Thanks for the input guys. I appreciate it. Just to save myself the headache of buying a real steel rail and it not working, I took the safer route and got a Madbull Daniel Defense Omega RAS 7" rail. I don't think there's a picture of it on here so I'll try to post something up.
