Is it in any way possible to attach an M945 Compact slide to an M945 frame?

If not, is there any specific reason why this is not possible?

Probobly not, due to thee fact that the compact M945 slide is shorter then the full sized M945.

That shouldn't be as much of a problem as the internals not matching up.

M945 technically is NOT a 1911 design base gun.  You can't assume the full size looks like 1911 than the compact should work.  In fact I'm having a hard time confirming M945 Compact actually exist in real firearms.

In terms of airsoft... I'm not sure if there is an answer for your question.

he's saying that in the real world, he's having a hard time believing a compact m945 exists but in airsoft, he's not sure.

I'm not quite sure I've made myself clear here, so I'll re-iterate.

I'm specifically asking whether it is possible to mount an airsoft M945 Compact slide onto a regular airsoft M945 frame. At all. Even if the task requires some amount of modification.

My reasons for this inquiry are that I wish to undertake a sort of personal project in which I will attempt to fix on a compact slide onto a regular frame so that it has a full-sized grip but with otherwise compact dimensions.

I am absolutely certain that several components in both the compact and regular M945 airsoft pistols are identical in both form and placement. I've used the regular M945 assembly chart to completely take apart my compact pistol, and I've noted that there are several identical parts to the full-sized pistol while some other components may differ in terms of size but otherwise serve the same function.

My only real concern is whether everything inside the regular-sized M945 airsoft pistol will line up perfectly to everything inside the compact-sized M945 airsoft pistol.

the Non compact pistol frame for the m945 is longer then the m945 compact slide, so no. The thing is though, I said this in my original post.

:sigh: you made me take out my collection for comparison.

It's impossible.  The frame can slide on, but you have a couple of problems.

1. Barrel feeding ram don't match up

2. compact frame too short to house the full slide.   Spring guide actually exposed.

I was talking about the compact slide on the full frame, but I guess 1. might be an actual problem.

In any case, thanks for your help. Could have been a lot of grief there if I acted on impulse.

you can fit the compact slide on the full frame.  However, the full frame dust cover is too long for the compact slide.
