Alright. So. A couple days ago, I bought a KWA speed loader. Mainly because the store I went to didn't have another brand and I didn't feel like running all over town to find a store that had a different brand.

Anyhow. After 2-3 days of sitting around on my bookshelf and loading a midcap 5-6 times, the feed lips broke. I can't load my midcaps, and bbs fall all over the place when I turn it upside down. The problem? The product I bought didn't have an O-ring in it. I thought it was odd when I bought it, but chalked it up to your 'Engineered to Outperform' motto. I feel quite stupid to have fallen for it.

(Yes, I realize that 'feed lips' isn't the right term, but right now, I'm to pissed to care.)

What  can I do to fix this?

There's no o-ring in there because the feed lip (nozzle? thingie?) is broken. Damage is visible in both photos.  Defective?  Neglect?  Dropped?  Loaned to your dimwit brother?  :)

My 'Engineered to Outperform' magazine loader has loaded thousands of BBs in the past year and that "thingie" area looks pristine.

ive made this same post before...   as much as i love KWA's....  these have just never worked more than a couple of mags for me or my friends..

exact same problem, same area, same results.

its the only KWA disappointment our team has ever had.

I have 4 that have done the exact same thing in the past 4 months.  they still work, you just have to quirk them sideways a little and they'll feed just fine. Minus the bb's falling out when the cap is open.

Since the MultiQuote button doesn't appear to be working (Weird), I'mma have to reply like this:

Chuck:
Defective, yes. My product didn't come with an O-ring. Like I said. I thought it was funny, but chalked it up to KWA's "Engineered to Outperform" motto ( )and didn't think much of it.

Neglect, no. I only used it yesterday and today. It's sat outside it's packaging, cap on, on my bookshelf ever since I got it.

Dropped, no. See above. ^

Dimwitt brother, No way. I'm a single child. :(

SKD:
Yeah... After a brief Google search, I've discovered that it seems to be a rather common occurrence. <_<

Speedwar:
Thanks for the tip. I'll give that a shot. If it works, I can just hold it upside down, put it in the mag, and flip it right-side up to load the bbs, I suppose....

Mine has worked so flawlessly that I was surprised to read the other posts.  I guess I got a good sample!

oh ......... forgot to point out that none of ours had no Orings in them either...

not sure if this was a manufacture/QC problem or what but we purchased them from Hobbytown, Crazycromag & Evike...  same results with each..

we still use them to "carry" bb's & went back to the $2 cheapy loaders which have never failed.

I dunno guys, my team and I have been using about 6 of these things with zero problems, in fact I don't think any of us are willing to go back to those other cheap crappy loaders. Especially when dealing with LM4 magazines this loader is incredibly valuable. I've paid $20 for one of those IR strobe POS loaders before, so spending $20 on a KWA loader seemed like a decent idea. So far I have only one complaint: if you're not careful how you put the LM4 adapter back into the compartment you can get it stuck, and the only way to get it out is by loosening the screw at the bottom and pulling it apart slightly. Perhaps I haven't had issues because I use GBB's only, meaning maybe there's some kind of stress that AEG mags put on the lips. My guess it when you jam the nozzle into the mag there's the stopper in the mag that prevents BB's from coming out, perhaps that stopper is putting undue stress on the nozzle? That seems to be what the picture suggests. Maybe try keeping the nozzle slightly above the BB stopper, or be a cool person and use GBBR's :D

all i can tell you is that $3 cheapy loaders dont ever break this way using them hundreds of times.....  and our team spent $80+ on 4 of these things & its the first KWA product we have ever been unhappy with.

this is not an isolated incident or just a "couple of dumb users".....  its really common & there are even multiple threads about it on the various forums..  at least 2 here..

im one of the biggest KWA fans your ever gonna meet.... but these loaders were an extreme disappointment

I bought 2 of these and both have the same issue now.  NOt alot of use out of them and only used to fill K120 mags.  I still have the O ring but the plastic is all chipped up.  I know its not going to last much longer.  Before this i was using those cheap 100 round speed loaders and they are still like new.  I just had to fill them every mags worth.

Completely agree with most of the users on this topic. I've gone through 3 of these. Same problem. Feeder tip breaks WAY too easy. Not abuse or dimwit brother using it. Just not quality plastic.

They carry the same 45 day warranty if you would like to take advantage of that option.

You need to replce the o-ring.  The are found in the Pro Shop.  See here: http://store.kwausa....-ring2pack.aspx

Yea an O ring will not fix this.  Mine has now broken to the point that the bb's just fall out and will not load any mags since when you pump to put bb's in your mag and then release, the bb's just go right back into the speed loader.  I spent the last 2 hrs of airsofting loading my K120's by hand for my son.  Not fun.

If they carry the same warranty i am going to have to find that reciept.  I know its not 2 months old.

push the moving thingy down that when depressed pushes bbs into the mag (i will call it the handle in this post) and hold it down. then while keeping the handle held down lift the speed loader off the mag, then put it back onto the mag and at the same time releasing the speed loader's handle. and then pushing down the handle and holding it down and then lifting it up.
This will work with the broken lip, but it takes a little longer.

One thing I have noticed is that my o-rings in the speed loader have fallen out in transport or are not present at all. Only when there are no o-rings have my kwa speed loaders broken.

Solution? make sure you have the o-rings, and if it does for some reason break in the warranty period simply contact customer support.

By all means send them in under warranty with the receipt.  Filling mags by hand ain't fun...

Send them in guys, I'll take care of you. As a side note, one of our employees is heading to the factory in a couple weeks. We are going to bring a couple broken loaders along and see if they can do anything to reinforce them better. We have sold over ten thousand of these and I haven't seen that many broken ones in comparison to how many are sold, however there are still more than I'd like to see. Hopefully they will have a solution.
I'd like to point out that the same thing happened with my Marui and my King Arms loaders as well.
