Hello!

My KWA M226 PTP for whatever reason is having an issues with it's slide catch. The problem is that it doesn't seem to operate consistently. Now my slide gets jammed because of this. I did not drop the gun in any way. I did however use magic eraser on the gun for cosmetic purposes prior to the recent issues but I don't see how that would effect things?

Any suggestions?

Can you give a bit more info regarding how the slide is getting jammed and how this is, or is not, dependent on the slide catch? Is that catch engaging causing the slide to lock back while there are still BB's in the mag or is the slide simply sticking mid-cycle without the catch engaged?  If it is that latter then it sounds like you need a good cleaning and light lubing of the gun.

It's mostly the latter. I sort of caught on as I soon noticed how the gun began sounding screetchier than usual. I guess magic eraser speeds up the time lubricant dissolves. Before I go off and relube and clean my gun, I just want to be clear on a few things: I don't have the original lubricant provided by KWA since I bought this gun a long time ago, so what would be a good alternative? Secondly, what parts should I lube exactly? I can guess that it's probably the moving parts; so the hammer, in between the slide and the frame, around the barrel, trigger mechanism (?) and the decocking lever, right? Lastly, what is a reccomended method to cleaning?

Thank you for the response!

Here are two videos that show proper BBB gun cleaning and maintenance.  Watch both!

GBB 2: http://www.kwausa.co...?showtopic=3157

As far as what lube, I use 20-30 weight R/C shock oil.  Here a two examples: http://www.amazon.co...t/dp/B000W7PZ5G

and

Shop around for a good price.

Hope this helps.
