I recently purchased the ATP gen. 2 from Airsoft GI during black friday.  This version is the one with black (lasered ?) markings and a safety on the trigger.

After shooting it a couple of times, the slide is chipping away the orange painted tip on the bottom part of the outer barrel.  It doesn't exactly have a seperate orange tip like the previous gen, but a one part outer barrel with a painted orange tip.  Will this be an issue if i would have to send it in for warranty repair?  Will my warranty be voided if i just file down the remaining orange painted tip?  Nothing is wrong with the gun, i'm just curious.

Thanks!

I'd recommend not filing down the orange tip during the warranty period. As far as paint chipping, as long as it looks like normal wear & tear, it shouldn't be a problem.

KWA will not service any airsoft guns that lack the orange tip.  A normally worn orange tip should be fine, though.

Anyone got the correct shade of orange nail polish (enamel) to repaint a tip if necessary?  (Serious question.  :)  )

Safety orange is the same color as Blaze Orange, which is a shade of orange (Color No. 12199) required by United States law (U.S. Code of Federal Regulations, Title 15 Commerce and Foreign Trade, Section 1150.3) to be on the tips of barrels of such replica guns as airsoft guns, or simply cap or toy guns.

Roger that.  Since nail polish sticks to literally everything and is quite durable, what's the matching shade.  I doubt the cosmetics-babe at at Macy's will have a clue what FS 12199 might be.

The orange safety tip is an interstate commerce regulation, nothing more.  KWA is certainly involved in interstate commerce.
