Greetings Everyone,

I'm new to the forum and GBBR, but not to airsoft. I've been playing for I forget how many years now...

I just an LM4 and want to get the most accuracy and range I can out of the little guy.

I've seen alot on this forum about the RA-TECH drop in Hop Up and Barrel combo and the KM 6.02 available from the pro shop itself. This has been extremely helpful in educating me thus far.

However, it appears that if you do switch inners, then you're looking at modification to some capacity. So, why not just get the best barrel and hop up combo possible and only do it once?

What do you owners find to be the best combo of hop up and barrel?

RA-Tech
KM
or, has anyone fiddled with the idea of an Orga barrel in an LM4. That, I think, may have some great potential, if it can be modded to fit.

Thanks for everyone's time and brainpower,

AA

The RA is a drop in, the KM required modifications to your hop-up unit.

RA-Tech + Guarder Bucking = Preferred choice so far

Is there a definite answer on whether the KM barrel is better than the RA barrel? I know it requires modification to fit, but I'm just curious what the best option is for those of us who are willing to do mods.

And does anyone know of a video or set of pics that will help me install the RA-TECH hop up and barrel without messing something up?

Check out the LM4 teardown guide. It's currently the bottom pinned posted.

Any idea on whether or not the rifle will stay sturdy after I take the outer barrel and front sight off? It's so solid right now, and I'm worried that it would wobble if I took it apart and reassembled it.

No barrel whobble and I've taken it apart 4-5 times.  Can't speak for the triangle sight though as I've kept it off

I've tried both the ratech and KM head barrel. Didn't see any difference in performance. I kept the KM head just because it has a better finish and I like the 6.02 diameter.

Install for the KM is the same as the ratech just that you need to shave a little material from the oem brass that holds the hop up unit in place.

Okay. Now let me ask this just for kicks and giggles. Suppose I buy an extra lm4 hopup chamber. Is it possible for me to mod this extra chamber to fit a standard AEG barrel? I ask this because I'm wondering if this would be a simple way to instal a orga widebore barrel given that they are AEG or WA m4 size. My thinking is that any extra fps from a guarder hop up rubber upgrade would cancel out with the widebore barrel hypothetically allowing excellent accuracy while still providing acceptable fps.

Orga barrel?  Those things are 6.23 or something like that!?  Thought it worked best with Polarstars and wasn't meant for aegs or gbbr? That'll be interesting to see how it works, guys on my team run pstars and orgas with amazing results.

A wide bore barrel isn't the greatest idea in a gbbr. Since the gas has more area to escape from behind the bb in a wide bore, you will most likely lose accuracy, fps and range.

^..my thoughts exactly but pstars have blown what I perceived as possible out of the water.  If you don't mind the slight chance of.blowing $100 be my guest and try it.

Well, A friend of mine has one and access to them. My goal would be to 'test it out' so to speak before I buy one. The issues are that I would need a modification to the hop up chamber most likely. We shall see. I will let you know what happens.

My polarstar runs an orga and it is amazing.  It drops fps up to 50 fps but adds range and accuracy.  Dont see why it would work with green gas.

Tagged for outcome.
