The Madbull daniel defense rails (the mk18 style ones) most definitely work on the LM4c. They also do not wobble at all. however, the stock D-Ring is a b*tch to get off. to install, you need to remove the stock flash hider as well. Also, excuse the poor image, all i had available was a webcam. Hope this helps.

Does anyone know if any aftermarket upper or lower receivers fit on the lm4. For example the g&p magpul bodies.

No they do not. Try calling the pro shop. They might be able to help you out with a magpul lower.

Pro Shop will not sell any PTS lowers. PTS will not let them.

Well I guess I better take care of the lower I have then. Geez. That doesn't really make sense that you can't replace something. But what can you do.

I totally agree with you. I understand where PTS is coming from. They want to make sure that those of us that bought a LM4 PTS have something unique. Hopefully if we need a replacement receiver KWA can get us one.

I don't think I will be getting a new one anytime soon. I just got access to solidworks and I might have something else in the works ;)

I'd recommend the G&P over the Element handguard. Guarder generally makes nicer accessories than G&P but the price difference is significant. You're best bang for your buck would be to get the G&P RAS from Evike.

Agree. Forget the Guarder one, G&P is pretty much the same for less.

Howdy,

New to the forums and wondering if anyone has some experience installing aftermarket madbull outerbarrels on the LM4.
Im looking to replace the store outerbarrel with this.

http://www.airsoftgi...oducts_id=10200

I currently have a Madbull DD 7 Lite RAS on it, thinking of going to replace it with a 9 inch variant plus this. Wondering if it would fit together perfectly.

Again thanks in advance.

Hey Darkstar. The outer barrel you linked to is made for AEGs which are not compatible with the LM4 (nor any other GBBR that I am aware of). You basically have two options: Swap the OEM barrel extension forwards of the gas block with a different barrel extension (14mm counterclockwise) that works for you, or find an outer barrel that is designed for the LM4/KSC M4 (there's not a lot of variety out there though).

Darn, thats too bad was hoping to give it a similar layout as my real steel REC 7.

Not all is lost! You could use a Madbull Adams Arms Piston Replica. http://madbull.com/c...dex&cPath=22_33 It should fit the LM4 outer barrel.

It's not quite that simple. To do the conversion he wants he'd need a straight profile barrel. The barrel extension on the LM4 is a stepped profile which means that the replica piston gas system wouldn't sit right on it. It's doable so long as he also replaces the barrel extension with a 5" straight profile barrel extension. He could for example get a couple 2" and 1" barrel extensions and screw them together to make up the difference. But the other problem is that the piston gas block is held in place on the barrel by cross pins rather than hex screws. The 2" barrel extensions don't have those holes to accommodate that. They could be machined in of course. Just wanted to point out that its not as simple as buying the piston gas block and he'd be done. But it is doable.

Has anyone tried cutting off the "tabs" rear of the ring that sits against the front of the receiver? At least visually, it seems the two main differences between AEG and LM4 barrels is that part that protrudes into the receiver and the two holes drilled and tapped to hold the LM4 Hop Up.

Good question. Would love to know if its possible given the plethora of aftermarket AEG barrels out there.

Onto another question of compatibility... can anyone confirm whether or not aftermarket barrels made for the KSC M4 are compatible with the LM4? I'm trying to convince a manufacturer to produce KSC/LM4 government profile outer barrels (i.e. no M4 steps forward of the gas block) in 14.5" mid length, 16" mid length, and 16" rifle length configurations.
