I recently made one of the best purchases I have ever made in my time as an airsofter and I wanted to let all you fellow KWA enthusiasts know about this great new product. I don't know if other people on the forum have any, but I couldn't find anything about them, so I started a new thread.

The product in question is the Lonex Flash Mag for M4/M16 type guns. It is available on Evike for $25 at present. As far as I can tell, Evike is the cheapest domestic retailer of the flash mags for the time being. First, a couple of specs.

These are high cap magazines; they hold 360 rounds. That being said, they are about an inch longer than your standard 350-360 round high cap like the KWA high cap. That is because of this crazy new winding mechanism in the bottom. They are all metal and look and feel great in my SR10. They are a VERY tight fit in the magwell, so I wouldn't count on swapping these out quickly in the heat of battle. I got two and one of them was easier to get in and out than the other, but still required some wiggling. I considering filing them down like I did with my Magpul PTS high cap, but since they do eventually fit and continued insertion and removal of the magazine makes it a bit easier as the metal gives way, I decided it would be unnecessary. The nice thing about having such a tight fit is that there is positively no wobble in the mag like so many other mags have. This is particularly nice for me, as I grip the gun at the magwell with my second hand.

Now, for performance. The winding is super easy. There is a little metal trap door that swings open instead of a regular base plate. Inside there is a little plastic nub that you grab and pull out. This winding string is a metal cable, so I would imagine it will last a while. You wind the whole mag by doing this about five or six times. Swing the trap door closed - it stays securely shut - and you are good to go. These mags are primo. I have not had a single misfeed and they keep up with the KWA's high ROF flawlessly. I am only using a 9.6v battery at the moment, but I am expecting to receive my first lipo in the mail in the next few days, so I can report on any feeding issues at even higher ROF once I get that.

There is something about unloading 360 rounds without stopping that is pretty exciting. Plus, if you're on the receiving end, it is god damn terrifying (I lent one of the mags to my friend on the other team and he used it in a Sig 556 and kept my whole team pinned down for a good two minutes while his teammates flanked and destroyed us). At $25 a pop, these mags are well worth it in my opinion. You get all the no-winding goodness of a mid cap and the violence of action that comes with having a crap ton of ammunition. If you have $25, please just buy one.

Anyway, I hope I didn't sound like too much of a salesman for the manufacturer, but I swear these things are going to be the next big thing. It sure beats those high caps where you need an allen wrench or whatever and need to spend forever winding. Consider these things officially user verified as an excellent addition to any KWA owner's arsenal.

Yeah, Evike is a bit iffy. If you google "lonex flash mags," you'll find other sites that sell them, too, although for a few bucks more.

I am against Hi-Cap mags. I think they are great for the new player but you should strive to move to mid caps. I think if you are gonna run a Hi-cap you should have to spend the time winding it.

I definitely respect your opinion. I see you are into MilSim, so that opinion makes even more sense than it might otherwise. I actually own about 20 mid caps myself and very much enjoy the added realism they bring to the game by forcing focus on ammo capacity, however I definitely also enjoy the occasional ridiculous game of zombie apocalypse and the like where everyone is carrying thousands of rounds on their person and basically the game goes until the last surviving humans run out of ammo. I think airsoft is such a great time for the very reason that it can be played like paintball, like very realistic military simulations, or anywhere in between.

I was only trying to share something neat that I had come across with my fellow airsofters. If you are against high caps, that is entirely your prerogative, but surely you can see the appeal for less serious play?

I strive so much for realism with my guns in my sniper role that I don't even use AEGs. I stick to the realism that a quality gas gun delivers. Lukily I don't need to role with a ton of ammo because I'm a sniper.

AEGs are lame and Hi-caps make them more lame.
Trigger happy AEG users spend more on BBs than I spend on my G-Gas and BBs combined. Which is due to the role I play and my hit ratio.

But I digress.

Anyway, improved Hi-cap technology is kind of cool. I have some friends that use there Automatic Electric "Sewing Machine" Guns and they probably will be interested in this mag.

To each there own. We all need to play the sport the way that is fun for us as individuals. Without cheating of course.

+1 for the great find kostvoll

ive got nothing against jacking off or Milsim games....

i play milsims whenever the mood hits and use nothing but middy's for that..

for opens and zombie games?  middy's mean your either a sniper or your dead quickly.

but to the question the OP asked?

YES  we only use Lonex power mags as our high caps in our KWAm4a1's & our M16's...   we have 2 of each adn about20 of these mags...

they work perfectly & keep up with these guns on 11.1lipo with no problem.

things to look for:

the older ones had all black internals and black pull tabs...  these are flawless..

the new ones have white pulls & bb retainers and they are NOT as good.   seems like they went cheaper and they just dont feed as well.

they are SUPER TIGHT in the magwell and we actually buff the corners and the rear of them down to fit the magwells easily.

support gunners and those goofy "saw wielders" dont scare you a bit when you have these..

My friend recently got some of these mags and I noticed the different pull tabs and internals as well.  I didn't see a difference in performance though.
