I'm trying to change out the standard handguard and replace it with a rail. I can't get the delta ring to pull back to pop out the stock handguard? is there a trick to taking off the handguard?

They're extremely hard the first time.  And taking it off all together is going to be a pain too.  Don't even bother trying without an armorers wrench lol.  You can also use a pair of large pliers or wire cutters with rubber grips to push down as appose to the tool gcw linked.  I used wire cutters and simply grabbed the delta ring with the handles and pushed down with the gun between my knees.

Just got a new LM4 in yesterday, going to build up a new rifle and just took off the hand guards. they were a bit snug but manageable by hand. you can try putting on some gloves then stick the stock on the ground and pull down there not that hard to remove with a little bit of muscle. hope it helps

Mine was on almost rock solid.  Even with my dads grip strength, he couldn't budge it any more than I could without a tool.  I always get the guns with the over-tightened parts lol.  From flash hiders to AEG buffer tube screws.

Thanks guys for the help, That delta ring was so tough to move! It took many tries. I had to put the stock on the ground with the gun pointing up and put all my weight on it and it slowly moved.
